Abstract

Every woman experiences different sickness during menstruation, and most of them experience the sore (dysmenorrhoea), as it caused discomfort. This condition would be worsen if psychological condition is unstable, such as having stress. Stress will cause a neuroendocrine response that causes excessive contraction of the uterus therefore causing dysmenorrhoea. This study uses a correlation analysis design (correlational study) with a cross sectional approach. The population of the study are the students of the Faculty of Medicine of Indonesian Christian University in 2018. There are 96 students in total that were used as the object of the sample. The ChiSquare Statistical Test Results obtained Asymp values. Sig. (2-sided) obtained was 0.01, i.e. (p <0.05), In conclusion, there is a relation in between the stress and the reaction of primary dysmenorrhoea on the students of FK UKI 2018. While the value of the coefficient R (Spearman Correlation) is 0.510. Thus, stress is one of the causes of primary dysmenorrhoea experienced by women, thereforeit is necessary to stabilize the psychological condition such as to manage or restrain the stress experience.
