Abstract
Escherichia coli merupakan flora normal di usus manusia dan sama sekali tidak berbahaya, tetapi ada beberapa spesies yang bersifat patogen dan dapat menyebabkan diare bila mencemari makanan atau minuman. E. coli merupakan mikroorganisme indikator yang dipakai di dalam analisis air untuk menguji adanya pencemaran oleh tinja. Penyebab terkontaminasinya makanan dan minuman bisa melalui air, peralatan yang digunakan, kebersihan dari proses pembuatan, dan manusia yang terinfeksi E.coli. Mengingat pentingnya kualitas atau keamanan minuman yang dikonsumsi, maka perlu dilakukan penelitian secara mikrobiologi untuk mengetahui kualitas minuman salah satunya adalah jus mangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pencemaran kuman E.coli pada minuman jus mangga yang dijual di wilayah Kelurahan Cawang, Jakarta Timur. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif untuk mengetahui hasil cemaran kuman E. coli dan mengetahui prevalensi kuman E. coli pada minuman jus mangga yang dijual di wilayah kelurahan Cawang, Jakarta Timur. Dengan menggunakan sampel sebanyak 30, hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 30 sampel ditemukan 3 sampel tercemar kuman E. coli. Kata kunci : Jus Mangga, Escherichia coli. / Escherichia coli is a normal flora in the human intestine and is completely harmless, but there are several species that are pathogen and can cause diarrhea if contaminating food or drinks. E. coli is an indicator microorganism used in water analysis to test for contamination by feces. The cause of contamination of food and drink can be through water, the eating equipment, cleanliness of the manufacturing process or the person has been infected by E. coli. The importance of beverage for consumption has made a need for microbiology research to know the quality of beverages. One of the beverages is mango juice. The purpose of this research is to find out the contamination of E. coli in mango juice that being sold in Kelurahan Cawang, East Jakarta. The research design used was descriptive to determine the prevalence of E. coli bacteria contamination and to find out the E. coli in mango juice sold in Kelurahan Cawang, East Jakarta. By using a sample of 30, the results showed that from 30 samples found 3 samples contaminated with E. coli germs. Key Words : Mango juice, Escherichia coli.
