Abstract

Sampul Tempo dirancang dengan visual kuat dan ilustrasi mencolok yang menggambarkan topik utama edisi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan memahami dan menganalisis makna visual sampul majalah Tempo edisi bulan Januari 2024 dengan tiga sampul majalah yang pertama berjudul "Angan-Angan Satu Putaran” edisi 15- 21 Januari 2024, kedua berjudul “Omon-omon Bansos” edisi 22-28 Januari 2024 dan terakhir berjudul “Operator Presiden Presiden Jokowi” edisi 29 Januari – 4 Februari 2024. Dengan teori Semiotika Charles Sanders Pierce dan analisis visual, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi elemen-elemen seperti ilustrasi, tipografi, warna, dan simbol pada sampul untuk mengungkap pesan dan tema yang disampaikan. Penelitian dilakukan melalui metode kualitatif. untuk menyelami pesan dan tema yang ingin disampaikan oleh majalah tersebut. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek-aspek desain seperti penggunaan warna yang memikat, pemilihan tipografi yang tepat, tata letak yang menarik, identitas visual yang kuat, ilustrasi yang akurat, dan infografis yang informatif memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk persepsi pembaca. Warna merah tua dan putih pada sampul menggambarkan tekanan politik dan kejujuran, sementara warna biru muda menciptakan kesan stabil. Simbol-simbol ini berhasil menyampaikan dinamika politik Pemilihan Presiden 2024 di Indonesia, serta menunjukkan bagaimana loyalitas terhadap Presiden Presiden Presiden Jokowi memengaruhi proses pemilihan dan mendukung pencalonan anaknya. Kata Kunci : Majalah, Tempo, Semiotika. / Tempo sampuls are designed with strong visuals and striking illustrations that depict the issue's main topics. This research aims to understand and analyze the visual meaning of the Tempo magazine sampul for the January 2024 edition with three magazine sampuls, the first entitled "Angan-Angan Satu Laparan" edition 15- 21 January 2024, the second entitled "Omon-omon Bansos" edition 22-28 January 2024 and finally entitled "Operator Presiden Presiden Jokowi" edition 29 January - 4 February 2024. Using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory and visual analysis, this research explores elements such as illustrations, typography, colors and symbols on the sampul to reveal the message and theme conveyed. Research was carried out using qualitative methods to explore the messages and themes that the magazine wanted to convey. Research findings showed that design aspects such as the use of attractive colors, choosing the right typography, attractive layout, strong visual identity, accurate illustrations. , and informative infographics play an important role in shaping readers' perceptions. The dark red and white on the sampul depict political pressure and honesty, while the light blue creates a sense of stability. These symbols successfully convey the political dynamics of the 2024 Presidential Election in Indonesia, as well as showing how loyalty to President Presiden Presiden Jokowi influences the election process and supports his son's candidacy.
