Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis mengenai penulisan berita Magdalene.co terkait isu catcalling. Catcalling tergolong dalam bentuk pelecehan seksual yang terjadi di jalan. Sayangnya, meskipun termasuk pelecehan seksual, media arus utama masih menganggap remeh kasus catcalling. Remehnya kasus catcalling terbukti dari jarangnya pemberitaan di media arus utama terkait isu catcalling. Meskipun begitu, Magdalene.co merupakan salah satu media yang membawa isu catcalling kepada masyarakat sehingga menjadi pembicaraan khalayak. Magdalene.co secara konsisten menulis berita mengenai isu feminis menunjukkan bahwa Magdalene.co merupakan media alternatif feminis. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori media alternative untuk menjelaskan Magdalene.co sebagai media alternatif. Dalam mempublikasikan pemberitaan terkait catcalling, Magdalene.co melihat dari sudut pandang feminis. Analisis framing yang digunakan menemukan bahwa Magdalene.co dalam penulisan berita catcalling sudah sesuai dengan panduan penulisan pelecehan seksual yang ada. Meskipun Magdalene.co adalah media alternatif, penulisan berita terkait pelecehan seksual, terkhusus catcalling lebih berpihak kepada perempuan. Untuk itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan Magdalene.co sebagai acuan media lain dalam menulis kasus catcalling, terlebih kekerasan seksual, baik bagi media arus utama maupun media alternatif lainnya. Kata Kunci: Magdalene.co, Catcalling, Media Alternatif, analisis framing. / This study analyzes the Magdalene.co news writing related to the issue of catcalling. Catcalling is classified as a form of sexual harassment that occurs on the street. Unfortunately, despite including sexual harassment, the mainstream media still underestimates the case of catcalling. The triviality of the catcalling case is evident from the rare reporting in the mainstream media regarding the issue of catcalling. Even so, Magdalene.co is one of the media that brings the issue of catcalling to the public so that it becomes public discussion. Magdalene.co consistently writes news on feminist issues showing that Magdalene.co is an alternative feminist media. This study uses alternative media theory to explain Magdalene.co as an alternative media. In publishing news related to catcalling, Magdalene.co looked at it from a feminist point of view. The framing analysis used found that Magdalene.co in writing catcalling news was in accordance with the existing sexual harassment writing guidelines. Even though Magdalene.co is an alternative media, writing news related to sexual harassment, especially catcalling, is more in favor of women. For this reason, this study recommends Magdalene.co as a reference for other media in writing catcalling cases, especially sexual violence, both for mainstream media and other alternative media.
