Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan metode praktikum dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI di SMA Santa Maria Della Strada dengan menggunakan metode praktikum. Selain itu penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI di SMA Santa Maria Della Strada dengan menggunakan metode praktikum. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kuasi eksperimental dengan desain two group pretest and posttest. Sampel pada penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas XI yang berjumlah 56 orang terdiri dari 28 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 28 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa nilai signifikansi (Sig.) pada kelas eksperimen maupun pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05). Artinya metode praktikum dan metode konvensional yang masing-masing digunakan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kimia siswa. Namun berdasarkan analisis nilai gain, diketahui bahwa terjadi peningkatan sebesar 31% pada kelas eksperimen dan 12% pada kelas kontrol. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan metode praktikum lebih baik dari pada kelas kontrol. Kata Kunci: Metode Praktikum, Hasil Belajar Kimia, Sistem Koloid. / The objective of this study is to find out whether the application of practicum method can improve the learning result of chemistry of class XI students in Santa Maria Della Strada High School by using practice method. In addition, this study also aims to find out how much increase in the results of chemistry learning class XI students in Santa Maria Della Strada High School by using practice methods. The research method used in this research is quasi experimental method with two group pretest and posttest design. The sample in this research is the students of class XI, amounting to 56 people consisting of 28 students as experimental class and 28 students as control class taken by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the significance value (Sig.) In the experimental class as well as in the control class was 0.000 less than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). This means that the methods of practicum and conventional methods used in each experimental class and control class have a significant effect on students' chemical learning outcomes. However, based on gain value analysis, it is known that there is an increase of 31% in the experimental class and 12% in the control class. It can be concluded that the improvement of learning outcomes in the experimental class that applied the practice method is better than the control class.
