Abstract

Media adalah sebuah alat yang mempunyai fungsi menyampaikan pesan, sehingga media adalah alat perantara yang dirancang untuk menyampaikan pesan dengan tujuan membantu pemakai mencapai tujuan tertentu. Sosial media adalah fase transformasi di mana orang bisa menemukan, membaca, membagikan berita, informasi dan konten kepada orang lain. Sosial media sangat populer karena memungkinkan orang untuk terhubung dengan dunia online. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini apakah dengan meminta password dan mengakses ponsel tanpa izin merupakan pelanggaran pribadi dan apakah mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum Universitas Kristen Indonesia sudah mengetahui jika meminta password dan mengakses ponsel tanpa izin merupakan sebuah pelanggaran data pribadi Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian hukum bersifat empiris dengan mengunakan pendekatan questioner kepada mahasiswa angkatan 2023. Hasil penelitian bahwa meminta password dengan memaksa merupakan pelanggaran data pribadi sebagaimana diatur dalam Pasal 65 ayat (1) UU PDP. Berdasarkan hasil questioner/survei dengan 100 responden mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum Universitas Kristen Indonesia Angkatan 2023. 99% mahasiswa mengetahui jika meminta password dengan mengakses ponsel tanpa izin merupakan pelanggaran data pribadi. / Media is a tool that has the function of conveying messages, so media is an intermediary tool designed to convey messages with the aim of helping users achieve certain goals. Social media is a transformation phase where people can find, read, share news, information and content with others. Social media is very popular because it allows people to connect with the online world. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether asking for a password and accessing a cell phone without permission is a personal violation and whether students at the Faculty of Law, Indonesian Christian University already know that asking for a password and accessing a cell phone without permission is a violation of personal data. This research is empirical legal research using a questionnaire approach for students class of 2023. The research results show that asking for a password by force is a violation of personal data as regulated in Article 65 paragraph (1) of the PDP Law. Based on the results of a questionnaire/survey with 100 respondentsfrom the Faculty of Law, Indonesian Christian University Class of 2023, 99% of students know that asking for a password by accessing a cell phone without permission is a violation of personal data.
