Abstract

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) didefinisikan sebagai perbesaran atau proliferasi sel prostat. Penyakit ini sering ditemukan pada pria lanjut usia. Penyebab BPH masih belum terindentifikasi. Namun, ada beberapa faktor yang berperan dalam perbesaran volume prostat seperti obesitas, diabetes mellitus, hipertensi, inflamasi. Berdasarkan studi oleh Lim, kejadian BPH meningkat setelah dekade ke 4 dan pada dekade ke-9 prevalensinya meningkat hingga mencapai 60%. Terdapat 9,2 juta kasus BPH, yang dialami oleh pria di Indonesia berusia di atas 60 tahun pada tahun 2013. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik pasien BPH berdasarkan usia, indeks massa tubuh (IMT), gula darah sewaktu (GDS), tekanan darah, volume prostat di RS UKI pada periode Januari 2017 – Maret 2023. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian deskriptif retrospektif dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang dilakukan pada Instalasi Rekam Medik RS UKI. Hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan 100 pasien yang mengalami BPH dan sudah memenuhi kriteria ekslusi dan inklusi. Pasien BPH terjadi pada rentang usia 70 – 79 tahun dan volume prostat dengan rentang 30 – 59 mL masing-masing sejumlah 42 pasien (42%). Pasien BPH dengan obesitas sejumlah 34 pasien (34%). Pasien dengan diabetes mellitus sejumlah 8 pasien (8%). Pasien dengan hipertensi sejumlah 46 pasien (46%). Simpulan : Pada penelitian ini, Kasus BPH terutama ditemukan berusia 70 – 79 tahun dengan volume prostat 30 – 59 mL. Hipertensi menjadi faktor risiko yang sering ditemukan pada pasien BPH. / Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is defined as enlargement or proliferation of prostate cells. It is often found in elderly men. The cause of BPH is still unidentified. However, There are several factors that play a role in prostate volume enlargement such as obesity, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, inflammation. According to a study by Lim, the incidence of BPH increases after the 4th decade and by the 9th decade the prevalence increases to as high as 60%. There were 9.2 million cases of BPH, experienced by men in Indonesia over the age of 60 in 2013. This study aims to describe the characteristics of BPH patients based on age, body mass index (BMI), random blood sugar, blood pressure, prostate volume at RS UKI in the period January 2017 - March 2023. The method used in retrospective descriptive research using secondary data conducted at the Medical Record Installation RS UKI. The results of this study obtained 100 patients who experienced BPH and met the exclusion and inclusion criteria. BPH patients occurred in the age range of 70 - 79 years and prostate volume in the range of 30 - 59 mL each in 42 patients (42%). Patiens with obesity were 34 patients (34%). Patients with diabetes mellitus were 8 patients (8%). Patients with hypertension were 46 patients (46%). Conclusion: In this study, BPH cases were mainly found at the aged group 70 - 79 years with a prostate volume of 30 - 59 mL. Moreover, Hypertension is a risk factor that is most found in BPH patients.
