Abstract

Formaldehid adalah senyawa kimia yang salah satu manfaatnya yaitu untuk mengawetkan cadaver pada pelaksanaan praktikum anatomi. Jumlah formaldehid yang dipakai juga tergantung dari bentuk sediaan utuh atau sediaan organ cadaver. Akan tetapi jumlah gas formaldehid yang dihasilkan dari penguapan cairan formaldehid menyebabkan beberapa masalah kesehatan yaitu iritasi mata dan iritasi saluran napas atas yang bersifat akut. Menurut WHO (World Health Organization) Nilai Ambang Batas (NAB) yang mampu menyebabkan iritasi mata dan saluran napas atas yaitu 0,08-2,52 ppm dengan lama paparan yaitu 30 menit. Sedangkan menurut PERMENAKER. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan konsentrasi terhadap gejala iritasi mata dan saluran napas atas akut akibat gas formaldehid pada mahasiswa Angkatan 2020 FK UKI saat praktikum anatomi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi komparatif dengan desain penelitian studi cross sectional dengan jumlah sampel 130 orang. Didapatkan hasil pengukuran gas formaldehid pada ruangan praktikum anatomi melebihi NAB dari WHO dan PERMENAKER yaitu 0,595 ppm pada sediaan cadaver utuh dan 0,395 ppm pada sediaan organ cadaver. Responden yang mengalami gejala mata perih 119 orang (91,5%). Responden yang mengalami mata berair dengan jumlah 102 orang (78,5%). Responden yang mengalami mata menjadi merah 42 orang (32,2%). Responden yang mengalami mata terasa gatal 37 orang (28,5%). Responden yang memiliki riwayat iritasi mata sebanyak 22 orang (29,2%). Responden yang mengalami mata terasa mengganjal 19 orang (14,6%). Responden yang mengalami mata bengkak 11 orang (8,5%). Responden yang mengalami gejala hidung terasa perih sebanyak 75 orang (57,7%), sesak napas 32 orang (24,6%), bersin 25 orang (19,2%), batuk 24 orang (18,5%), hidung menjadi berair 57 orang (43,8%), sulit menelan 17 orang (13,1%), tenggorokan terasa gatal 10 orang (7,7%), mual dan muntah 16 orang (12,3%), suara menjadi serak 14 orang (10,8%). / Formaldehyde is a chemical compound whose uses are to preserve cadavers during anatomy practicals. The amount of formaldehyde used also depends on the whole dosage form or cadaveric organ preparation. However, the amount of formaldehyde gas produced from the evaporation of formaldehyde liquid causes several health problems, namely eye irritation and acute upper respiratory tract irritation. According to WHO (World Health Organization), the threshold value (NAB) that can cause eye and upper respiratory tract irritation is 0.08-2.52 ppm with an exposure time of 30 minutes. Meanwhile, according to PERMENAKER. This study aims to determine the relationship between concentration and symptoms of acute eye and upper respiratory tract irritation due to formaldehyde gas in Class of 2020 FK UKI students during anatomy practicum. The research method used is a comparative study with a cross-sectional research design with a sample 130 people. The results obtained from measuring formaldehyde gas in the anatomy practicum room were 0.595 ppm in whole cadaver preparations and 0.395 ppm in cadaver organ preparations. These results have exceeded the NAB from WHO and PERMENAKER. Respondents who experienced symptoms of sore eyes were 119 people (91.5%). Respondents who experienced watery eyes were 102 people (78.5%). Respondents who experienced red eyes were 42 people (32.2%). 37 respondents experienced itchy eyes (28.5%). There were 22 respondents (29.2%) who had a history of eye irritation. 19 respondents (14.6%) experienced eye discomfort. 11 respondents (8.5%) experienced swollen eyes. Respondents who experienced symptoms of a sore nose were 75 people (57.7%), shortness of breath 32 people (24.6%), sneezing 25 people (19.2%), coughing 24 people (18.5%), nose became watery 57 people (43.8%), difficulty swallowing 17 people (13.1%), throat felt itchy 10 people (7.7%), nausea and vomiting 16 people (12.3%), voice became hoarse 14 people (10.8%).
