Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kata gerund yang terdapat dalam sari makna film dalam bahasa sumber sebagai bahasa Inggris serta sari makna bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa sasaran dalam sebuah karya film serta teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan untuk menerjemahkannya. Teori teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan pada teori Molina dan Albir (2002:509). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada analisis kata gerund yang terdapat dalam sebuah film yang disutradarai oleh Tom Hooper dan dirilis pada tanggal 6 September 2010 di Britania Raya yang berjudul “The King Speech”. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan oleh peneliti dengan cara rekam catat pada sari makna bahasa sumber maupun bahasa sasaran pada film “The King Speech”. Peneliti mengklasifikasikan dan menganalisis teknik penerjemahan yang dilakukan oleh penerjemah untuk menerjemahkan bahasa sumber ke dalam bahasa sasaran. Molina dan Albir (2002:509) menyatakan bahwa terdapat 18 teknik penerjemahan, namun peneliti hanya menemukan empat teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan oleh penerjemah yaitu teknik penerjemahan amplifikasi, teknik penerjemahan reduksi, teknik penerjemahan harfiah dan teknik penerjemahan transposisi. Dari keempat teknik penerjemahan tersebut, teknik penerjemahan yang paling sering digunakan adalah teknik penerjemahan transposisi. / This paper aims to find out the gerund contained in the subtitles film in the source language as English language and subtitles Indonesian language as the target language in a film work as well as the translation techniques used to be translated. The researcher used the theory of translation techniques based on the theory of Molina and Albir (2002:509). The research was conducted on analysis of gerund contained in a film directed by Tom Hooper and released on September 6, 2010 in the United Kingdom entitled "The King Speech". The methodology used in this research is the qualitative descriptive method. This research was conducted by the researcher by watching and noting on the subtitle of the source language to target language in the film "The King Speech". The researcher then classified and analyzed the translation techniques performed by the translator to translate the source language into the target language. Molina and Albir (2002:509), stated that there are 18 translation techniques, but the researcher only found four translation techniques used by translators, namely amplification translation technique, reduction translation technique, literal translation technique and transposition translation technique. Out of the four translation techniques, the most dominant used by the translator is transposition translation technique.
