Abstract
Kata Kunci : infeksi nosokomial, stetoskop, Staphylococcus./Nosocomial infections which are now referred to as infections related to health services or Health-care Associated Infections (HAIs) are the main problems of hospitals. Nosocomial infections occur throughout the world and cause an increase in the morbidity and mortality of patients treated, HAI's also increases the amount of treatment costs due to the longer stay and additional treatment costs. Transmission of infection can occur through medical equipment, one of the medical tools that is often used is a stethoscope. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common cause of hospital infections. The design of this study was experimental to find out the picture of bacteria in the diaphragm of the stethoscope at the Polyclinic Hospital of Indonesian Christian University. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling using a purposive sampling method. Based on the research results obtained a total of 19 stethoscopes, 18 stethoscopes contaminated with bacteria and 1 stethoscope not contaminated with bacteria. The bacteria that have been obtained are Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Gram positive consists of Streptobasil (50%), Staphylococcus aureus (4%) and Staphylococcus epidermidis (41%), while Gram negative bacteria, Klebsiella sp (5%).
