Abstract

Penelitian ini berusaha mengungkap kekuatan identitas masyarakat jaringan Korean Wave di tengah budaya konservatif Timur Tengah. Ia bertujuan untuk mengetahui bangunan identitas yang dikonstruksikan melalui jaringan internet sehingga menciptakan masyarakat jaringan Korean Wave di Timur Tengah. Skripsi ini menggunakan konsep soft power, konsep budaya konservatif, dan teori identitas. Untuk memetakan variabel, menentukan proposisi, dan pengujian hipotesis, maka skripsi ini menggunakan metode behavioural oleh Morton Kaplan. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Korean Wave berhasil menembus budaya Timur Tengah yang berdampak pada terbentuknya identitas baru di Timur Tengah akibat konstruksi pikiran sebagai penggemar atau disebut fans. Penyebaran Korean Wave tidak terlepas dari peran penting teknologi jaringan internet sehingga fenomena ini menjadi kekuatan ekonomi Korea Selatan./This study seeks to reveal the strength of the identity of the Korean Wave network community in the middle of the conservative culture of the Middle East. It aims to find out the identity building that is constructed through the internet network so as to create a Korean Wave network society in the Middle East. This thesis uses the concept of soft power, the concept of conservative culture, and the theory of identity. To map variables, determine propositions, and test hypotheses, this thesis uses the behavioural method by Morton Kaplan. The results obtained from this study indicate that the Korean Wave has succeeded in penetrating Middle Eastern culture which has an impact on the formation of a new identity in the Middle East due to the construction of the mind as fans or called fans. The spread of the Korean Wave cannot be separated from the important role of internet network technology so that this phenomenon becomes the economic strength of South Korea.
