Abstract

Latar Belakang: Gangguan keseimbangan adalah salah satu keluhan yang umum terjadi pada Lansia, masalah keseimbangan dan jatuh memiliki dampak yang buruk bagi kesehatan dan menurunkan kualitas hidup individu. Edukasi balance strategy exercise sangat penting untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan khususnya bagi para Lansia dalam mengurangi risiko jatuh. Tujuan: mengetahui rancangan edukasi balance strategy exercise pada Lansia dalam mengurangi risiko jatuh. Metode: melalui media leaflet dan video edukasi dengan tahapan perancangan, validasi oleh pakar, uji coba produk, dan evaluasi pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test kepada 31 orang Lansia di Gereja GPIB Nazareth. Hasil: Dari penilaian menunjukkan validasi produk tugas akhir yang dinilai oleh pakar dan 5 orang masyarakat menunjukkan hasil yang baik, dengan nilai rata-rata leaflet 76,7 dan video 80,5. Terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan pada sasaran, dari rata-rata jawaban iya atau pernah melakukan balance strategy exercise pada pre-test sebesar 75,4% menjadi 95,4% pada post-test . Kesimpulan: edukasi balance strategy exercise meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai pentingnya keseimbangan dan pencegahan jatuh melalui balance strategy exercise yang dapat dilakukan secara mandiri. Kata kunci: Balance strategy exercise, keseimbangan, Lansia, edukasi, jatuh / Background: Balance disorders are one of the most common complaints among Older adults. Balance problems and falls can have adverse effects on health and reduce an individual's quality of life. Education on Balance Strategy Exercise is important to improve knowledge among Older adults, particularly in reducing the risk of falls. Purpose: To develop and evaluate an educational program on Balance Strategy Exercise for elderly to reduce the risk of falls. Methods: Educational media in the form of a leaflet and an educational video were developed through the stages of design, expert validation, product testing, and evaluation. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test questionnaires administered to 31 older adults at GPIB Nazareth Church. Results: The assessment results indicated that the final project product, evaluated by experts and five community participants, demonstrated good validity, with average scores of 76.7 for the leaflet and 80.5 for the educational video. There was an increase in participants’ knowledge, as reflected by the average percentage of “yes” responses or having performed Balance Strategy Exercise, which increased from 75.4% in the pre-test to 95.4% in the post-test. Conclusion: Education on Balance Strategy Exercise improves knowledge regarding the importance of balance and fall prevention through Balance Strategy Exercise, which can be performed independently by older adults.
