Abstract

Untuk memilih proses perlakuan panas yang tepat untuk aplikasi industri baja karbon medium S45C, perlu diketahui pengaruh parameter teknologi selama proses perlakuan panas seperti suhu pemanasan, waktu penahanan dan media pendingin terhadap struktur mikro dan sifat mekanik. Penelitian ini tujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh temperatur temper terhadap struktur mikro dan sifat mekanik pada baja karbon sedang S45C sebagai material JIG. Menggunakan metode eksperimen, berupa perlakuan panas pada fasa austenit temperatur 825OC waktu penahanan 30 menit, dicelup cepat pada media oli, dan dilanjutkan variasi temperatur temper 200 OC, 250 OC, dan 300 OC serta waktu tahan 30 menit. Pengujian ukuran kristal, kerapatan dislokasi, dan regangan mikro kisi menggunakan difraktometer sina-X (XRD) dihitung menggunakan persamaan Derby Schrerre, dan uji kekerasan dengan skala Brinell. Hasil analisa struktur mikro menunjukkan bahwa rerata ukuran kristal mengalami kenaikan yang signifikan setelah proses pemanasan mulai dari fase austenit, dicelup cepat media oli dan ditemper. Namun untuk kerapatan dislokasi dan regangan mikro kisi mengalami penurunan. Hasil uji kekerasan dan kuat tarik memperlihatkan kenaikan dengan temperatur temper ditambahkan. Kata Kunci : kerapatan dislokasi, baja karbon sedang S45C , temper, XRD, kekerasan To choose the right heat treatment process for industrial applications of S45C medium carbon steel, it is necessary to know the influence of technological parameters during the heat treatment process such as heating temperature, holding time and cooling medium on the microstructure and mechanical properties. This research aims to analyze the effect of tempering temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of S45C medium carbon steel as a JIG material. Using an experimental method, in the form of heat treatment in the austenite phase at a temperature of 825OC, holding time 30 minutes, rapid dipping in oil media, and continued with varying tempering temperatures of 200OC, 250OC, and 300OC and a holding time of 30 minutes. Testing of crystal size, dislocation density, and lattice microstrain using an X-ray diffractometer (XRD) was calculated using the Derby Schrerre equation, and hardness testing using the Brinell scale. The results of microstructural analysis show that the average crystal size increased significantly after the heating process starting from the austenite phase, dipping quickly in oil and tempering. However, the dislocation density and lattice microstrain decreased. The hardness and tensile strength test results show an increase with added tempering temperature.
