Abstract
Live streaming TikTok tidak hanya digunakan untuk melakukan transaksi jual beli secara real-time, melainkan juga telah menjelma menjadi ruang pertunjukan dengan unsur hiburan dan dramatisasi yang saat ini dianggap unik. Penggunaan teknik naratif seperti sindiran, candaan, hingga pertengkaran palsu (scripted conflict) menjadi ciri khas yang dapat menarik perhatian penonton live streaming tersebut. performative conflict menimbulkan berbagai respons dalam kalangan audiens. Sebagian penonton merasa terhibur, dan menganggap konflik itu sebagai bagian dari hiburan yang membuat live streaming lebih menarik. Selain itu, konflik performatif terbukti meningkatkan interaksi, komentar, dan jumlah penonton secara signifikan. Namun, kenyataan lainnya menunjukkan bahwa tidak sedikit penonton merasa terganggu, bingung, atau bahkan mempertanyakan keaslian dan etika di balik drama tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan sampel 7 informan, dengan kriteria yang berbeda-beda. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi non-partisipan pada live streaming tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa performative conflict yang ditampilkan secara live di akun @HiMichelle di TikTok merupakan jenis konstruksi komunikasi yang menggabungkan hiburan, strategi untuk menarik perhatian, dan keuntungan bisnis. Persepsi audiens terhadap fenomena ini beragam, dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman mereka, preferensi mereka, dan tingkat literasi media mereka. Selain itu, temuan ini menegaskan bahwa makna konten di media digital berasal dari proses interpretasi dinamis audiens. berdasarkan pernyataan narasumber, aspek hiburan dalam konten tersebut lebih dominan dibandingkan dengan tujuan komersialnya, dimana sekitar 80% perhatian audiens tertuju pada hiburan, dan 20% yang memperhatikan produk yang ditawarkan. Kata Kunci: performative conflict, persepsi audiens, siaran langsung, tiktok / TikTok live streaming is not only used for real-time buying and selling transactions but has also transformed into a performance space with elements of entertainment and dramatization that are currently considered unique. The use of narrative techniques such as sarcasm, jokes, and even scripted conflicts has become a hallmark that can attract the attention of live streaming viewers. Performative conflict elicits a variety of responses among the audience. Some viewers find it entertaining and consider the conflict as part of the entertainment that makes live streaming more engaging. Moreover, performative conflicts have proven to significantly increase interactions, comments, and viewer numbers. However, the reality shows that quite a few viewers feel disturbed, confused, or even question the authenticity and ethics behind the drama. The research method used is qualitative with a sample of 7 informants, with varying criteria. Data collection was conducted thru in-depth interviews and non-participant observation of the live streaming. The research results show that the performative conflict displayed live on the @HiMichelle account on TikTok is a type of communication construct that combines entertainment, attention-grabbing strategies, and business profit. Audience perceptions of this phenomenon vary, influenced by their experiences, preferences, and levels of media literacy. Moreover, these findings affirm that the meaning of content in digital media arises from the dynamic interpretation process of the audience. Based on the statement of the informant, the entertainment aspect in the content is more dominant compared to its commercial purpose, where about 80% of the audience's attention is focused on entertainment, and 20% on the product being offered.
