Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan sebanyak 65 data slang dalam serial televisi Top Boy. Data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerjemah memanfaatkan empat teknik utama dalam proses penerjemahan subtitle, yaitu teknik kesetaraan, adaptasi, modulasi, dan penerjemahan literal. Dari seluruh teknik yang digunakan, adaptasi menjadi teknik yang paling dominan karena mampu menyesuaikan makna dengan konteks budaya bahasa sasaran sehingga pesan yang disampaikan tetap mudah dipahami oleh penonton. Penggunaan teknik ini juga membantu mempertahankan nuansa asli bahasa slang tanpa mengurangi kejelasan makna. Selain mengidentifikasi teknik penerjemahan, penelitian ini juga menemukan beberapa kategori slang yang digunakan dalam serial tersebut, meliputi slang segar dan kreatif, slang flippant, slang imitatif, dan slang kliping. Di antara keempat kategori tersebut, slang imitatif merupakan jenis yang paling sering muncul. Dominasi jenis ini menunjukkan bahwa bahasa yang digunakan dalam serial banyak dipengaruhi oleh tren linguistik dan budaya populer yang berkembang di masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis bentuk-bentuk slang yang terdapat dalam dialog serial Top Boy sekaligus mengkaji cara penerjemah mengalihbahasakannya ke dalam subtitle. Data penelitian berupa kata, frasa, dan ungkapan slang yang diperoleh melalui teknik simak dan catat dengan mengamati dialog secara menyeluruh lalu mendokumentasikan setiap bentuk slang yang ditemukan. Dalam proses analisis, teori Allan dan Burridge (2006) digunakan untuk mengklasifikasikan jenis slang berdasarkan karakteristiknya. Sementara itu, teori Vinay dan Darbelnet (1995) digunakan sebagai landasan untuk mengidentifikasi teknik penerjemahan yang diterapkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif agar setiap data dapat dianalisis secara rinci dan mendalam sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya. Kata kunci: Top Boy Serial Televisi, Tipe Slang, Teknik Terjemahan / Based on the research results, 65 slang data were found in the Top Boy television series. The data shows that the translator utilized four main techniques in the subtitle translation process, namely equivalence, adaptation, modulation, and literal translation. Of all the techniques used, adaptation is the most dominant technique because it is able to adjust the meaning to the cultural context of the target language so that the message conveyed remains easily understood by the audience. The use of this technique also helps maintain the original nuance of slang without reducing the clarity of meaning. In addition to identifying translation techniques, this study also found several categories of slang used in the series, including fresh and creative slang, flippant slang, imitative slang, and clipping slang. Among these four categories, imitative slang is the most frequently appearing type. The dominance of this type indicates that the language used in the series is heavily influenced by linguistic trends and popular culture developing in society. This study was conducted to analyze the forms of slang found in the Top Boy series dialogue and examine how the translator translated them into subtitles. The research data consisted of slang words, phrases, and expressions obtained through a listening and note-taking technique, observing the dialogue thoroughly and documenting each form of slang encountered. In the analysis process, Allan and Burridge's (2006) theory was used to classify slang types based on their characteristics. Meanwhile, Vinay and Darbelnet's (1995) theory was used as a basis for identifying the translation techniques applied. This study employed a qualitative approach so that each piece of data could be analyzed in detail and in depth according to the context of its use.
