Abstract

Perawat berperan penting dalam memfasilitasi dan memotivasi pasien untuk melakukan mobilisasi sejak dini, terutama post operasi 6 jam pertama./Background: Appendicitis is an acute surgical condition that requires surgical intervention in the form of an appendectomy. Based on the Global Burden of Disease 2020–2023 data, the global incidence of acute appendicitis reaches 10 cases per 10,000 population each year, with the incidence in Indonesia estimated at around 7.5% of total emergency surgical cases. The post-operative wound healing stage can be influenced by various interventions, one of which is early mobilization Objective: The aim of this case study is to evaluate early mobilization measures to accelerate the wound healing process in post-appendectomy patients at Budhi Asih Regional Hospital Jakarta. Method: The research design used a descriptive case study of two post-appendectomy patients. Data were collected through direct observation, documentation of wound progression, and physiological responses to early mobilization. Results: Patient 1 Mrs. Y in the first 19 hours could stand and walk only 3 steps with assistance around the bed while patient 2 Ms. N in the first 18 hours could stand and walk 10 steps with minimal assistance. The condition of the wounds of both patients appeared dry and clean, indicating good healing within three days of observation. The results showed that patient 2 was more effective than patient 1 due to age factors. Conclusion: Early mobilization has been shown to support the wound healing process after appendectomy and can be recommended as part of postoperative nursing care. Nurses play an important role in facilitating and motivating patients to mobilize early, especially in the first 6 hours post-surgery.
