Abstract

This study examines the juridical fulfillment of victims’ rights in serious criminal acts from the perspective of Law Number 35 of 2014 on Child Protection, using Court Decision Number 3/Pid.Sus-Anak/2023/PN.Jkt.Pst as a case study. The research focuses on how victims’ rights are fulfilled and how the judiciary ensures protection based on the best interests of the child. Using an empirical juridical method with a qualitative approach, data were obtained through literature review, legal analysis, and interviews at the Central Jakarta District Court. The findings reveal that the fulfillment of victims’ rights remains suboptimal, particularly in legal protection, psychological recovery, and compensation, due to weak institutional coordination and limited understanding of child protection principles. The study recommends strengthening the implementation of the Child Protection Law through restorative justice, capacity building for law enforcement, and the establishment of monitoring mechanisms for child victims’ rights. Keywords: Fulfillment of Victims’ Rights, Serious Crime, Child, Child Protection, Restorative Justice, Court Decision
