Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka, yang diperkenalkan oleh Kemendikbudristek pada 2022, memberi fleksibilitas bagi sekolah untuk menyesuaikan kurikulum dengan karakteristik lokal dan kebutuhan siswa, serta fokus pada pengembangan potensi individu dalam konteks sosial dan budaya daerah. Integrasi budaya lokal dalam pendidikan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa serta membantu mereka memahami nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Pulau Halmahera di Maluku Utara memiliki sejarah panjang dan budaya kaya yang dipengaruhi berbagai etnis. Beberapa sekolah di Halmahera Utara telah menerapkan kurikulum merdeka berbasis budaya, namun masih terdapat hambatan dan tantangan dalam proses penerapannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Berbasis Budaya Lokal Halmahera di SMA Negeri 1 Halmahera Utara. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negari 1 Halmahera Utara. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisisdengan menggunakan tiga tahap yaitu:1) Reduksi data 2) penyajian data 3) penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Teknik keabsahan data yang digunakan yaitu triangluasi. Pelaksanaan kurikulum merdeka berbasis budaya lokal Halmahera di SMA Negeri 1 Halmahera Utara menunjukkan komitmen sekolah dalam menghadirkan pembelajaran fleksibel dan responsif. Kurikulum yang disesuaikan memungkinkan guru merancang pembelajaran sesuai minat dan bakat siswa. Keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang diajarkan meningkat setelah diterapkannya kurikulum merdeka berbasis budaya lokal halmahera. Siswa menunjukkan antusiasme yang lebih besar dalam pembelajaran ketika materi yang diajarkan relevan dengan budaya dan tradisi daerah. Namun, implementasi ini masih memerlukan peningkatan sumber daya, seperti materi ajar dan pelatihan guru, dan dukungan dari pemerintah agar berjalan efektif. Kata Kunci : Kurikulum Merdeka, Budaya Lokal Halmahera / The Merdeka Curriculum, introduced by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in 2022, provides schools with the flexibility to adapt the curriculum to local characteristics and student needs, focusing on individual potential development within a regional social and cultural context. Integrating local culture into education can increase students' learning motivation and help them understand the values of local wisdom. The island of Halmahera in North Maluku has a long history and a rich culture influenced by diverse ethnicities. Several schools in North Halmahera have implemented a culturally-based Merdeka Curriculum, though there are still obstacles and challenges in its implementation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Halmahera Local Culture-Based Merdeka Curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 North Halmahera. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study methodology and is conducted at SMA Negeri 1 North Halmahera. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data is analyzed in three stages: (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) conclusion drawing and verification. The technique used to ensure data validity is triangulation. The implementation of the Halmahera local culture-based Merdeka Curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 North Halmahera reflects the school’s commitment to providing flexible and responsive learning. The adapted curriculum allows teachers to design lessons according to student’s interests and talents. Student engagement and understanding of the taught material have increased since the culturally-based Merdeka Curriculum was introduced. Students show greater enthusiasm for learning when the material is relevant to their local culture and traditions. However, this implementation still requires resource enhancement, such as teaching materials and teacher training, as well as government support to ensure effective execution.
