Abstract
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan teknik pengajaran Think-Pair-Share Technique dalam kemampuan menulis teks hortatori siswa-siswi kelas sebelas (XI) di SMAK Penabur Kota Wisata. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, dilakukan percobaan pada dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimental (11 IPA 2) dan kelas kontrol (11 IPA 1). Kelas eksperimental diajarkan menggunakan teknik pengajaran Think-Pair-Share Technique dan kelas kontrol diajarkan menggunakan teknik metode pengajaran tradisional. Masing-masing kelas terdapat 30 siswa. Kelas diadakan selama dua kali seminggu dan dilakukan selama dua bulan. Pre-test dan post-test digunakan sebagai instrument dalam pengumpulan data. Baik pre-test maupun post-test diberikan perlakuan yang sama dikedua kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data kuantitatif, yang perhitungannya dilakukan dengan software SPSS versi 24,0, software ini digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang diperoleh dari keenam tes tersebut. Hasil analisa data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat efek yang signifikan dari penggunaan teknik pengajaran Think-Pair-Share Technique terhadap kemampuan menulis teks hortatori siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari rata-rata nilai post-test antara kelas eksperimental yang menggunakan teknik pengajaran Think-Pair-Share Technique dan kelas kontrol yang hanya menggunakan teknik metode pengajaran tradisional. Rata-rata nilai post-test pada kelas eksperimental adalah 79,16 sementara pada kelas kontrol adalah 59,00. Teknik pengajaran Think-Pair-Share Technique memberikan efek yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis teks hortatory siswa-siswi kelas sebelas di SMAK Penabur Kota Wisata. Teknik pengajaran ini memotivasi siswa-siswi untuk lancar berbicara dan membuat proses belajar lebih menarik serta menciptakan suatu kondisi proses pembelajaran yang baru dan menyenangkan. Kata kunci: Eksperimental, think-pair-share, teks hortatori The research is an experimental research; it was aimed to investegate the effect of using TPS technique to the eleventh graders’ writing hortatory exposition text achievement at SMAK Penabur Kota Wisata. To attain the aim, this research was conducted in two classes. Each class consisted of 30 students. The experimental group (11 IPA 2) was taught using Think-Pair-Share Technique and control group (11 IPA 1) was taught using traditional method. The classes were held twice a week and the research was conducted over a period of two months. Pre-test and post-test were employed to collect data. Both the pre and the post-test were administered in the two classes. The quantitative data analysis was conducted with the SPSS 24.0 software, these tests were applied for analyzing the data obtained from six sets of tests. Data analysis showed that there is a significant effect after Think-Pair-Share Technique to the eleventh graders’ writing hortatory exposition text achievement at SMAK Penabur Kota Wisata. It can seen from the mean score of the post-test between experimental and control class. The mean score of post-test in the experimental class is 79.16 and the mean score of post-test in the control class is 59.00. Think-Pair-Share Technique gives the effect in teaching writing hortatory exposition text achievement to eleventh graders’ of SMAK Penabur Kota Wisata. It motivates the students to writing well. It also makes the learning process become more interest and create a new cheerful and relaxing atmosphere. Keywords: Experimental research, think-pair-share, hortatory text
