Abstract

Penulisan ini membahas peran penting penulis naskah dalam membangun narasi dokumenter budaya berjudul The Voices of Osing: Keeping Traditions Alive. Penulisan naskah dilakukan dengan pendekatan gaya ekspositori yang menekankan penyampaian informasi secara sistematis melalui voice-over, wawancara tokoh adat, dan visual pendukung dari prosesi budaya seperti Mocoan Lontar Yusuf, Barong Ider Bumi, dan Tari Gandrung. Riset mendalam dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan di Desa Kemiren, studi literatur, dan wawancara langsung dengan tokoh adat untuk memastikan keakuratan data. Penulis naskah menyusun alur cerita yang faktual sekaligus mampu membangun keterikatan emosional, sehingga nilai-nilai budaya Suku Osing dapat disampaikan kepada publik secara informatif dan menarik. Struktur narasi yang tersusun secara sistematis dan berbasis data ini memperkuat efektivitas penyampaian pesan budaya, sekaligus mengajak audiens untuk refleksi atas pelestarian tradisi di tengah modernisasi. Narasi dokumenter mampu menghadirkan tradisi Osing dalam format yang komunikatif dan mudah dipahami. Pada akhirnya, penulis naskah The Voices of Osing: Keeping Traditions Alive tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penyusun cerita, tetapi juga sebagai jembatan komunikasi antarbudaya yang penting dalam mengangkat dan menjaga nilai-nilai pelestarian budaya lokal sebagai warisan luhur yang harus dilestarikan oleh generasi sekarang dan masa depan. / This study examines the pivotal role of the scriptwriter in constructing the narrative of the cultural documentary The Voices of Osing: Keeping Traditions Alive. The scriptwriting process utilizes an expository approach, prioritizing the systematic delivery of information through voice-over narration, interviews with traditional leaders, and supporting visuals depicting cultural practices such as Mocoan Lontar Yusuf, Barong Ider Bumi, and Tari Gandrung. Comprehensive research was conducted via field observations in Kemiren Village, literature review, and direct interviews with cultural informants to ensure the accuracy and validity of data. The scriptwriter meticulously crafts a narrative that is both factually grounded and capable of eliciting emotional engagement, thereby facilitating the effective transmission of Osing cultural values to the audience in an informative and compelling manner. The structured and evidence-based narrative framework enhances the communicative efficacy of the documentary, inviting viewers to critically reflect on the preservation of cultural traditions in the context of ongoing modernization. Ultimately, the scriptwriter’s role extends beyond narrative construction to function as a crucial mediator in intercultural communication, promoting the safeguarding of local cultural heritage as a valuable legacy for present and future generations.
