Abstract

ABSTRAK Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana remaja gen z menghadapi pola asuh otoriter orang tua yang dapat memengaruhi pembentukan identitas diri mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi yang digunakan remaja gen z dalam merespons pola asuh otoriter, serta dampaknya terhadap proses pembentukan identitas diri mereka secara psikologis dan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme dengan pendekatan kualitatif untuk memahami makna subjektif dari pengalaman remaja gen z dalam menghadapi pola asuh otoriter. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan informan yang dipilih secara purposive. Analisis dilakukan dengan subjek tertentu untuk mengungkap strategi komunikasi dan proses pembentukan identitas diri yang mereka alami. Peneliti menemukan bahwa remaja gen z menghadapi pola asuh otoriter dengan strategi resistensi yaitu ”transkrip publik” yang tampak patuh, sambil melakukan ”transkrip tersembunyi” yang tidak setuju seperti berpura-pura dan mencari identitas diri mereka di ruang lain. Strategi ini digunakan untuk menjaga identitas diri mereka. Pola asuh otoriter terbukti menghambat eksplorasi diri, menyebabkan stres, dan memengaruhi pembentukan identitas secara negatif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa remaja gen z menghadapi pola asuh otoriter dengan strategi komunikasi yang mencerminkan bentuk resistensi terbuka maupun tertutup. Strategi tersebut menjadi mekanisme bertahan sekaligus upaya membentuk identitas diri yang mandiri. Pola asuh otoriter terbukti membatasi kebebasan berekspresi dan eksplorasi diri, sehingga menghambat proses pembentukan identitas diri yang sehat dan seimbang. Kata Kunci: Remaja Gen Z, Pola Asuh Otoriter, Strategi Komunikasi, Identitas Diri, Resistensi ABSTRACT The problem in this study is how gen z adolescents face parental authoritarian parenting that can affect their self-identity formation. The purpose of this study is to find out the communication strategies used by gen z adolescents in responding to authoritarian parenting, as well as its impact on the process of forming their identity psychologically and socially. This study uses the constructivism paradigm with a qualitative approach to understand the subjective meaning of the experiences of gen z adolescents in dealing with authoritarian parenting. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants. The analysis was carried out with specific subjects to reveal the communication strategies and self-identity formation processes they experienced. Researchers found that gen z teens faced authoritarian parenting with a resistance strategy of "public transcripts" that appeared to be obedient, while doing "hidden transcripts" that disagreed such as pretending and searching for their self-identity in other spaces. This strategy is used to maintain their identity. Authoritarian parenting has been shown to inhibit self-exploration, cause stress, and negatively affect identity formation. This study concludes that gen z adolescents face authoritarian parenting with communication strategies that reflect both open and closed forms of resistance. This strategy is a survival mechanism as well as an effort to form an independent self-identity. Authoritarian parenting has been shown to limit freedom of expression and selfexploration, thus hindering the process of forming a healthy and balanced self-identity..
