Abstract

Penelitian ini tentang Simple Present Tense dan menggunakan media seperti flashcard. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Simple Present Tense siswa kelas 3 dengan menggunakan flashcards. Peserta penelitian ini adalah siswa/i kelas 3 di Sekolah Permai tahun akademik 2018-2019 menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Peserta terdiri dari 16 perempuan dan 14 laki-laki. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes, kuisioner, dan lembar observasi siswa. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan yang cepat, dapat dibuktikan melalui tes awal, tes akhir I, dan tes akhir II. Peningkatan yang terlihat adalah 103.08% dari test awal hingga test akhir 2. Hasil kuisioner menunjukan bahwa siswa setuju dengan menggunakan flashcards dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dalam Simple Present Tense. Berdasarkan penemuan tersebut, maka dinyatakan bahwa flashcard dapat meningkatkan kemahiran dalam simple present tense untuk siswa kelas 3 di sekolah Permai. Dari fakta ini, dapat disarankan kepada guru bahwa cara ini dapat membantu pengajarannya dan siswa mahir dalam penggunaan simple present tense. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which examined whether flash card could increase students’ mastery in simple present tense. It was conducted to increase third grade’s mastery on Simple Present Tense by using flashcard. The subject of this research was students of 3rd grade at Permai School in academic year 2018-2019 using classroom action research. The participants of this research were 16 girls and 14 boys. The data were collected through test, questionnaire, and observation sheet. The test result showed a rapid improvement, it is shown through the pre-test (36.93 points), post-test I (65.73), and post-test II (75.00). The improvement shown was 103.08 % from pre-test into post-test 2. The questionnaire analysis showed that the students agreed that using flashcards could increase their mastery in Simple Present Tense. Based on the findings, it can be stated that Flashcard could increase the third grade students’ mastery of simple present tense at Permai School. By this fact, it is suggested that teacher could apply this way to help himself teach and the students enrich their mastery of simple present tense.
