Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakter Wen Wu dalam film Shang Chi & the Legend of Ten Rings yang ditayangkan di tahun 2021. Dalam film ini Xu Wen Wu atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Wen Wu merupakan antagonis utama. Film ini menceritakan bagaimana perubahan karakter Wen Wu yang sangat signifikan dari awal film hingga ke penghujung film. Wen Wu merupakan seorang pemimpin yang sangat kuat, bengis, dan kejam telah berkuasa selama berabad-abad. Suatu hari dia bertemu Perempuan yang merubah sifatnya menjadi lebih tenang yang kelak perempuan itu akan menjadi istrinya namun Wen Wu yang sangat mencintai istrinya mendapati istrinya dibunuh oleh musuh lamanya alhasil Wen Wu kembali membangkitkan karakter lamanya dan bahkan jauh lebih kejam dari sebelumnya berusaha membalaskan dendamnya dengan menggunakan anaknya sendiri yaitu Shang Chi. Penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif serta mengunakan teori psychoanalysis Sigmund freud dengan berbasiskan elemen elemen film seperti sinematografi baik itu shot, angle, tone warna hingga Naskah dalam Film yang digunakan sebagai alat untuk menjelaskan penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini, penulis menemukan Wen Wu dalam film Shang Chi & The Legend of Ten Rings merupakan karakter yang: 1) terstruktur secara Id, Ego, dan Superego yang kemudian kepribadian itu saling bertentangan sehingga membuat sistem pertahanannya sendiri, 2) merupakan karakter yang dinamik karena memiliki insting dan anxiety yang mempengaruhinya sepanjang cerita. Kata kunci: Psychoanalysis, karakter, film, Sigmund Freud. / This research aims to analyze the character Wen Wu in the film Shang Chi & the Legend of Ten Rings which will be broadcast in 2021. In this film Xu Wen Wu or better known as Wen Wu is the main antagonist. This film tells how Wen Wu's character changes very significantly from the beginning of the film to the end of the film. Wen Wu was a very strong, cruel and cruel leader who had ruled for centuries. One day he met a woman who changed her character to a calmer one who would later become his wife, but Wen Wu, who really loved his wife, found his wife killed by his old enemy, as a result, Wen Wu revived his old character and was even more cruel than before, trying to avenge him by using his own child. namely Shang Chi. The author uses descriptive qualitative methods and uses Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theory based on film elements such as cinematography, including shots, angles, color tones and scripts in films which are used as a tool to explain this research. As a result of this research, the author found that Wen Wu in the film Shang Chi & The Legend of Ten Rings is a character who: 1) is structured according to Id, Ego and Superego, whose personalities then conflict with each other, thus creating his own defense system, 2) is a dynamic character because he has instincts and anxiety that influence him throughout the story.
