Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan gramatika yang dibuat oleh siswa kelas satu SMA St. Petrus Sidikalang dan untuk mengetahui penyebab kesalahan-kesalah yang di buat oleh siswa dalam tulisan teks recount. Sample yang di ambil dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 19 orang siswa dari kelas 1 SMA St. Petrus Sidikalang. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisa deskriptif. Adapun prosedur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: pertama, siswa di berkan tugas untuk menulis esai tentang pengalaman mereka saat liburan, kemudian data dikumpulkan melalui what’s App. Setelah semua terkumpul, kesalahan siswa di analisis menurut teori Azar (2000) yaitu: Singular plural, Word Form, Word Choice, Verb tense, Add/omit a word, Word order, Incomplete sentence, Spelling, Punctuation, Capitalization, Article, Meaning not clear, Run on sentence, dan penyebab kesalahan siswa menurut teori Gass & Selinker (2008): Interlingual dan Intralingual. Jumlah kesalahan terbanyak yang di buat oleh siswa dalam penelitian ini adalah dari Word choice dan Verb tense. Jumlah kesalahan yang terdapat pada Word choice sebanyak 29% atau 53 total error dan yang keduaa dari Verb tense yang terdiri 21% atau 39 error. Teori sumber kesalahan dalam penilitian ini menggunakan teori Gass & Selinker (2008). Kesalahan terbanyak bersumber dari Interlingual dimana siswa masih menggunakan bahasa pertama mereka sebagai acuan dalam penulisan target bahasa. / This study aims to determine the grammatical errors made by the first graders of SMA St. Petrus Sidikalang and find out the source of the error made by students in writing recount text. The sample in this study were 19 students from the first grade students of SMA St. Petrus Sidikalang. The method used in this study is the descriptive analysis method. The procedures in this study are: first, students are given the task of writing essays about their experiences during the holiday, then data is collected through what's App. After the data is collected, students errors were analyzed according to the theory of Azar (2000) consists of Singular plural, Word Form, Word Choice, Verb tense, Add/omit a word, Word order, Incomplete sentence, Spelling, Punctuation, Capitalization, Article, Meaning not clear, Run on sentence, and source of student errors, according to Gass & Selinker (2008): Interlingual and Intralingual Error. The highest number of errors made by students in this study was from Word choice and Verb tenses. The number of errors in Word choice is 29% or 53 total errors, and the second is Verb tense, which consists of 21% or 39 errors. The theory of the source of error in this study used the theory of Gass & Selinker (2008). Most errors come from Interlingual, where students still use their first language to write the target language.
