Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan terjemahan literal yang diterapkan dalam film A Christmas Prince subtitle antara Netflix dan Subscene Subtitle dan mana yang memiliki kualitas terjemahan yang lebih baik. Pertanyaan penelitian pertama adalah apakah makna kontrastif dari terjemahan literal yang diterapkan dalam film A Christmas Prince subtitle antara Netflix dan Subscene, untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian pertama ini, penulis menggunakan data subtitle metode kualitatif yang menganalisis subtitle film dari dua sumber yang berbeda, hasil yang diperoleh adalah perbedaan arti satu kata, perbedaan arti dua kata yang digabungkan dan perbedaan arti kalimat yang diterjemahkan secara harfiah sebagai satu kesatuan dan tidak. Dan pertanyaan penelitian kedua adalah salah satu subtitle terjemahan literal mana yang memiliki kualitas terjemahan yang lebih baik antara subtitle Netflix dan Subscene dalam A Christmas Prince, untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian yang kedua ini, penulis menggunakan teori penilaian kualitas terjemahan dari Nababan, Nuraeni, dan Sumardiono tahun 2012. Terjemahan yang Hasilnya adalah dari 31 data yang digunakan, 16 subtitle dari Netflix memenuhi kualitas terjemahan yang baik sedangkan Subscene yang hanya memiliki 10 subtitle yang memenuhi kualitas terjemahan yang baik dan terdapat 5 subtitle yang memiliki poin netral antara Netflix dan Subscene.Kesimpulan yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah terjemahan literal dapat digunakan dengan baik selama memenuhi kriteria kriteria pada bahasa sasaran dengan mengandalkan pemilihan kata-kata yang memiliki makna yang sepadan yang harus berhubungan dengan konteks film atau teks dibahas. Penelitian ini terinspirasi dari dua penelitian sebelumnya yang mengutarakan dua hasil yang bertolak belakang mengenai terjemahan literal. / The purpose of this research is to find out the contrastive of literal translation applied in the movie A Christmas Prince subtitle between Netflix and Subscene Subtitle and which one has better translation quality. The first research question is what is the contrastive meaning of literal translation applied in the movie A Christmas Prince subtitled between Netflix and Subscene,to answer that the writer uses subtitle data qualitative method which analyzes film subtitles from two different sources, the results obtained are, differences in the meaning of one word, differences in the meanings of two words that are combined and differences in the meaning of sentences that are translated literally as a whole and not. The second research question is which one of the subtitles of literal translation has a better translation quality between Netflix and Subscene subtitle in A Christmas Prince, to answer this research question, the writer uses theory assessing quality of translation from Nababan, Nuraeni, and Sumardiono in 2012. A good quality translation must meet three aspects, namely accuracy, acceptability, and readability. The result is of the 31 data used, 16 subtitles from Netflix meet good translation quality, while Subscene only has 10 subtitles that meet good translation quality and there are 5 subtitles that have neutral points between Netflix and Subscene. The conclusion from this study is that literal translation can be used well as long as it meets the criteria in the target language by relying on the selection of words that have equivalent meanings.which must related to the context of the film or text are discussed. This study was inspired by two previous studies which expressed two contradictory results regarding literal translation.
