Abstract

Obesitas merupakan penyakit akibat penimbunan lemak di dalam tubuh yang berlebihan dan menjadi suatu masalah di kalangan remaja. Obesitas dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, di antaranya adalah faktor genetic dan faktor lingkungan seperti pola makan dan frekuensi makan sehari – hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan pola makan terhadap kejadian obesitas pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia angkatan 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel berjumlah 126 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui Teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuisioner yang terdiri dari pertanyaan pola makan dan food frequency questionnaire. Data dianalisi dengan menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil dari penelitian ini adanya hubungan (p<0,05) antara pola makan (p=0,00) dan frekuensi makanan (p=0,00) dengan kejadian obesitas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menggunakan SPSS dengan uji Chi-Square diperoleh adanya hubungan antara pola makan dengan obesitas. Kata kunci : Pola makan, Indeks Massa Tubuh, Obesitas. Obesity is a disease caused by excessive fat accumulation in the body and a problem among adolescents. Obesity can be caused by several factors, including genetic factors and environmental factors such as diet and frequency of daily meals. This study was conducted to determine the relationship of diet to the incidence of obesity in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Indonesian Christian University class of 2015. This study uses a correlational research design with a cross sectional approach. Samples were 126 students selected through simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire consisting of dietary questions and a food frequency questionnaire. Data was analyzed using the chi-square test. The results of this study were a relationship (p <0.05) between diet (p = 0.00) and food frequency (p = 0.00) with the incidence of obesity. Based on the results of the analysis using SPSS with the Chi-Square test, there was an association between obesity and diet. Keywords: Diet, Body Mass Index, Obesity.
