Abstract
Kata Kunci : Obesitas, Kadar Glukosa Darah Obesity or commonly referred to as obesity is defined as excess fat or adipose tissue in the body. Obesity, which is an increase in body fat, creates a tendency to decrease the action of insulin in the target tissue which results in an increase in glucose levels in the blood. The research subjects were 35 samples. Research subjects aged 40 - 69 years were taken using the simple random sampling method. All research subjects who have met the requirements and have signed an agreement will be measured weight, height, BMI determination, and measurement of blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of obesity with an increase in blood glucose levels in the community in Kertajaya Village, Indramayu, West Java. In 35 research subjects who were obese found an increase in blood glucose levels by 28 samples. Based on the Correlation test the value of p value is 0.009 with an interpretation smaller than the value of 0.05 and the value of r is 0.433 which means that the correlation is medium. From the results of this study it can be concluded that an increase in blood glucose levels is influenced by obesity based on BMI. Keywords : Obesity, Blood Glucose Level
