Abstract

Nama : Yuliana Astuty Ngoraitji Program Studi : Fakultas Sastra Inggris Judul : Analisis Terjemahan Noun phrase dalam Subtitle film The Chronicles of Narnia; the lion, the witch and thewardrobe Pembimbing : Dr. Bena Yusuf Pelawi, S.Pd., M. Hum. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis terjemahan frasa benda yang berfungsi sebagai subjek dan pelengkap kalimat dalam subtitle (sari makna) film “The Chronicles of Narnia; the lion, the witch and the wardrobe” yang dialih bahasakan dari bahasa Inggris ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif untuk mengamati subtitle film yang merupakan sumber data penulis. Penelitian ini akan melihat prosedur penerjemahan frasa benda yang berfungsi sebagai subjek dan pelengkap kalimat dalam subtitle film. Analisis dilakukan dengan cara meneliti keakuratan dan kesepadanan penerjemahan frasa benda yang berfungsi sebagai subjek dan pelengkap kalimat dalam subtitle film dan menentukan prosedur penerjemahan apa yang digunakan penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan frasa benda pada subtitle film. Prosedur terjemahan yang digunakan penerjemah subtitle dalam film The Chronicles of Narnia; the lion, the witch and the wardrobe adalah, terjemahan harafiah, transposisi, naturalisasi, reduksi dan ekspansi. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah prosedur penerjemahan harafiah menduduki peringkat tertinggi dalam menerjemahkan frasa benda yang berfungsi sebagai subjek dengan jumlah kasus 7 data. Kemudian untuk frasa benda yang berfungsi sebagai pelengkap kalimat hanya ditemukan 1 data. Kemudian untuk prosedur terjemahan transposisi menduduki peringkat kedua setelah terjemahan harafiah, yaitu dengan jumlah kasus 4 data dalam menerjemahkan frasa benda yang berfungsi sebagai subjek dalam kalimat. Sedangkan untuk prosedur penerjemahan naturalisasi ditemukan 1 data dalam menerjemahkan frasa benda yang berfungsi sebagai subjek. Di samping itu, prosedur penerjemahan reduksi dan ekspansi juga masing-masing menemukan jumlah kasus 1 data dalam menerjemahkan frasa benda yang berfungsi sebagai subjek dan pelengkap kalimat. This skripsi aims to analyze the translation of noun phrases that functions as a subject and complement of a sentence in the subtitle of the film "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” which is translated from English into Indonesian. In this study, the writer uses a qualitative descriptive research method to observe the scenes and film subtitle which are the source data of the study. This research will look at the procedure of translating noun phrases that serve as a subject and sentence complement in the subtitles of the film. The analysis was carried out by examining the accuracy and equivalence of the translation of noun phrases which serve as the subject and sentence complement in the film subtitle and determining what translation procedures the translator uses in translating the noun phrases in the film subtitle. The translation procedures used by the subtitle translator in translating the dialogue in the film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe are literal translation, transposition, naturalization, reduction and expansion. The result obtained is that the literal translation procedure has the highest rank in translating the noun phrase that functions as a subject with 7 data cases. Then for the noun phrase that functions as a sentence complement is in the lowest rank, with 1 data. Then for the transposition translation procedure it ranks second after literal translation, with cases of 4 data in translating noun phrases that function as subject in sentences. Meanwhile, the naturalization procedure, has found 1 data in translating a noun phrase as subject. In addition, the reduction and expansion translation procedures also each found the number of cases 1 data in translating noun phrases that function as subject and sentence complements.
