Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan peran manajerial kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja Guru SMP Santo Andreas Ahuru Kecamatan Sirimau Kota Ambon. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendapat gambaran tentang peran manajerial kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru, dalam memajukan sekolah yang di pimpinnya, serta melihat gaya kepemimpinan yang di pakai oleh kepala sekolah SMP Santo Andreas Ahuru Kecamatan Sirimau Kota Ambon . Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara terstruktur dan studi dokumentasi pada kepala sekolah, guru, peserta didik dan orang tua peserta didik di SMP Santo Andreas kecamatan Seremau kota Ambon. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) terdapat berbagai program pelatihan yang telah disiapkan oleh kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru, 2) terdapat program penting seperti pelatihan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang dilupakan oleh kepala sekolah untuk diprogramkan dan diadakan bagi guru, 3). kepala sekolah mendisiplinkan semua elemen pendidikan di sekolah seperti guru dan pegawai serta peserta didik dengan menerapkan atau mengutamakan pendidikan karakter sekolah, 4) kesejahteraan guru dan pegawai diperhatikan dengan baik serta penyesuaian gaji guru dengan PNS berdasarkan tingkatan atau golongan, 5) kepala sekolah memprioritaskan perekrutan calon peserta didik dari luar daerah kota Ambon bila dibandingkan calon peserta didik yang berdekatan dengan lingkungan sekolah, 6) banyak tugas tambahan yang dimiliki oleh kepala sekolah diluar tugas utamanya sebagai kepala sekolah seperti tugas sebagai direktur koperasi milik gereja katolik yang mengakibatkan tugas dibebankan ke guru lain, 7) kepala sekolah selalu memberikan motivasi dan dorongan bagi guru dalam hal peningkatan kualitas diri sebagai guru, 8) guru diberikan ruang dan diberikan kesempatan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dirinya sebagai pengajar dan pendidik dengan cara mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan, seminar dan kegiatan guru mata pelajaran. Kata kunci : manajerial, kepala sekolah, kinerja guru./ This research is a qualitative research that aims to describes the managerial role of school principals in improving the performance of teachers of SMP Santo Andreas Ahuru, Sirimau District, Ambon City. The purpose of this research is to find out and get an overview of the managerial role of the principal in improving performance teachers, in advancing the school they lead, and seeing the leadership style used by the principal of the Santo Andreas Ahuru Middle School, Sirimau District, Ambon City. This study uses qualitative methods and data collection using observation techniques, structured interviews and documentation studies on principals, teachers, students and parents of students at Santo Andreas Middle School, Seremau sub-district, Ambon city. The results of the research and discussion of the research show that: 1) there are: various training programs that have been prepared by the principal in improvement of teacher performance, 2) there are important programs such as training in the use of learning media that school principals forget to program and provide for teachers, 3). the principal disciplines all elements of education in schools such as teachers and employees as well as students by implementing or prioritizing school character education, 4) the welfare of teachers and employees is well considered and adjustments to teacher salaries with civil servants based on level or class, 5) school principals prioritize the recruitment of candidates students from outside the Ambon city area when compared to prospective students who are close to the school environment, 6) many additional tasks are required owned by the principal outside of his main duties as a principal such as the task of being the director of a cooperative owned by the Catholic church which resulted in the task being assigned to other teachers, 7) the principal always provides motivation and encouragement for teachers in terms of improving the quality of themselves as teachers, 8) teachers are given space and given the opportunity to improve his quality as a teacher and educator by participating in training activities, seminars and subject teacher activities.
