Abstract
Transformator berperan penting dalam distribusi tenaga listrik, terutama dalam mendukung kebutuhan beban motor tiga fasa pada industri. Namun, penggunaan motor tiga fasa sering menyebabkan rendahnya faktor daya, yang dapat mengakibatkan kerugian energi, kenaikan biaya operasional, serta penurunan efisiensi sistem tenaga listrik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya koreksi faktor daya transformator berkapasitas 3 MVA melalui penambahan kapasitor bank dengan konfigurasi 1 step 2x50 kVAR dan pengendalian menggunakan control regulator RVT2-12 ABB. Metode penelitian mencakup pengukuran parameter listrik awal, perancangan sistem kapasitor bank, instalasi control regulator, serta evaluasi kinerja sistem setelah pemasangan kapasitor bank. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan kapasitor bank secara signifikan meningkatkan faktor daya sistem dari rata-rata 0,79 menjadi 0,92. Selain itu, koreksi ini berhasil mengurangi rugi-rugi daya reaktif dan mampu meningkatkan efisiensi kapasitas pemakaian transformator 3MVA dari 57,2 % menjadi 46,2 % (efisiensi 11 %) dengan beban yang sama. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa implementasi kapasitor bank dengan control regulator RVT2-12 ABB pada transformator 3 MVA efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi sistem tenaga listrik. Hasil ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pengelolaan energi listrik yang lebih hemat dan berkelanjutan di lingkungan industri. Kata kunci: faktor daya, transformator 3 MVA, kapasitor bank, control regulator RVT2-12 ABB / Transformers play a crucial role in electrical power distribution, particularly in supporting the load requirements of three-phase motors in industrial settings. However, the use of three-phase motors often results in low power factor, which can lead to energy losses, increased operational costs, and decreased efficiency of the power system. This study aims to analyze the power factor correction efforts of a 3 MVA transformer through the addition of a capacitor bank with a 1-step 2x50 kVAR configuration and control using the RVT2-12 ABB regulator. The research methodology includes initial electrical parameter measurements, capacitor bank system design, control regulator installation, and performance evaluation of the system after the capacitor bank installation. The results indicate that the addition of the capacitor bank significantly improved the system's power factor from an average of 0.78 to 0.95. Furthermore, this correction reduced reactive power losses by 35% and achieved a 15% reduction in operational electricity costs. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of a capacitor bank with the RVT2-12 ABB control regulator on a 3 MVA transformer is effective in improving the efficiency of the electrical power system. These findings provide significant contributions to achieving more cost-efficient and sustainable energy management in industrial environments.
