Abstract
Diabetes Melitus, atau lebih dikenal penyakit kencing manis, merupakan sindrom kronik gangguan metabolisme akibat ketidakcukupan sekresi insulin atau resistensi insulin. Penyakit ini bersifat kronis dan setiap tahun jumlah penderita diabetes melitus makin meningkat. Menurut data Riskesdas pada tahun 2013 jumlah penderita diabetes melitus di Indonesia sudah mencapai 12 juta penduduk, meningkat hampir dua kali lipat dibandingkan pada tahun 2007. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari tahu pengaruh gaya hidup yang berisiko dan tingkat pengetahuan terhadap kejadian diabetes melitus di RSU UKI. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis univariat. Hasil analisis univariat menunjukkan sebanyak 18 orang (34,6%) memiliki gaya hidup yang buruk, 15 orang (28,9%) memiliki gaya hidup yang berisiko, dan sebanyak 45 orang (86,6%) memiliki pengetahuan tentang diabetes melitus yang cukup baik. Diharapkan bagi responden untuk memperbaiki gaya hidupnya, mulai dari pola makan dan aktivitas fisik, dan memperbanyak pengetahuannya tentang diabetes melitus agar dapat mengurangi risikonya. Kata Kunci: Diabetes Melitus, Gaya Hidup, Pengetahuan, Pola Makan, Aktivitas Fisik. / Diabetes Melitus is a chronic metabolic disorder syndrome due to insufficient secretion of insulin or insulin resistance. This disease is a chronic and every year the number of people with diabetes melitus is increasing. According to Riskesdas in 2013 the number of people with diabetes melitus in Indonesia has reached 12 million, an increase of almost double than in 2007. The aim of this study was to find out the influence of lifestyle risk and the level of knowledge on the incidence of diabetes melitus in UKI General Hospital. Analysis of the data used is the univariate analysis. Results of univariate analysis showed as many as 18 people (34.6%) had a bad lifestyle, 15 (28.9%) have a risky lifestyle, and as many as 45 people (86.6%) have sufficient knowledge about diabetes melitus. Expected for the respondents to improve their lifestyle, from diet and physical activity, and extend their knowledge of diabetes melitus in order to reduce the risk.
