Abstract

Pelaksanaan praktikum di tengah-tengah sistem pembelajaran online menjadi tantangan dan kesulitan bagi para pendidik. Bahkan dapat dikatakan bahwa sebagian besar sekolah tidak melaksanakan praktikum. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melaksanakan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui peningkatan minat belajar kimia siswa dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran laboratorium virtual (PhET); 2) mengetahui persentasi peningkatan minat belajar kimia dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran laboratorium virtual (PhET). Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 dengan sampel berjumlah 66 siswa yang ditentukan dengan cara purposive sampling, sampel terbagi menjadi dua kelas yaitu kelas kontrol (IPA 2) dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan Youtube, sedangkan kelas eksperimen (IPA 1) menerapkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan laboratorium virtual (PhET). Instrumen penelitian berupa angket yang telah divalidasi dengan jumlah butir soal sebanyak 20 pernyataan, menggunakan skala likert sebanyak 4 pilihan jawaban dari tidak setuju sampai sangat setuju. Hasil uji persyaratan analisis menggunakan data pre nontest menunjukkan data tidak terdistribusi normal dan bersifat homogen, sehingga dilakukan uji non parametrik. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan diketahui bahwa nilai Signifikan 0,00 < 0.05. Berdasarkan nilai tersebut menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan minat belajar kimia siswa melalui penggunaan media laboratorium virtual PhET. Besar peningkatan minat belajar siswa diukur dengan melakukan perhitungan n-gain, dan diketahui bahwa besar peningkatan adalah sebanyak 34% kategori sedang. Kata kunci: Kimia, Laboratorium virtual, Minat belajar, PhET. / The implementation of practicum in the midst of an online learning system is a challenge and difficulty for educators. It can even be said that most schools do not carry out practicum. Therefore, researchers carried out research with the aim of: 1) knowing the increase in students' interest in learning chemistry by using virtual laboratory learning media (PhET); 2) determine the percentage increase in interest in learning chemistry by using virtual laboratory learning media (PhET). The population of this study was all students of class X IPA SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta Academic Year 2020/2021 with a sample of 66 students who were determined by purposive sampling, the sample was divided into two classes, namely the control class (IPA 2) by applying the Discovery Learning and Youtube learning models. , while the experimental class (IPA 1) applies the Discovery Learning and virtual laboratory (PhET) learning model. The research instrument is a questionnaire that has been validated with a total of 20 questions, using a Likert scale of 4 answer choices from disagree to strongly agree. The results of the analysis requirements test using pre-nontest data showed that the data were not normally distributed and homogeneous, so a non-parametric test was carried out. Hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon test and it is known that the Significant value is 0.00 < 0.05. This shows that there is an increase in students' interest in learning chemistry through the use of PhET virtual laboratory media. The increase in students' interest in learning is measured by calculating the n-gain, and it is known that the increase is as much as 34% which can be classified in the medium category.
