Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini berhubungan dengan pengajaran kemampuan kosa kata menggunakan teka teki terhadap siswa siswi kelas lima di Pah Tsung Primary School Jakarta. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah kosakata siswa meningkat pada saat mereka diajar dengan menggunakan media teka teki. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SD kelas 5 SDS Pah Tsung, Cengkareng, Jakarta Barat. Satu dari tiga kelas diambil sebagai subjek penelitian dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak dua puluh dua siswa terdiri dari lima belas laki-laki dan tujuh perempuan. Mereka diajarkan kosakata dengan menggunakan teka teki sebagai media pembelajaran. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar uji teka teki, catatan harian dan lembar wawancara. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian adalah teknik kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Temuan penelitian ini adalah: ada peningkatan kosakata siswa melalui teka teki. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari skor rata-rata siswa pre-test 57,45, dan rata-rata post- test siklus pertama 67,72, dan rata-rata post-test siklus kedua 76,54 . Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa teknik teka teki dapat meningkatkan kosakata siswa. Kata kunci: penelitian tindakan kelas, meningkatkan kemampuan kosa kata, teka teki. / This clasroom action research deals with teaching vocabulary using Word Search Puzzle to the fifth graders at Pah Tsung Primary School Jakarta. The main objective of this is to find out whether students’ vocabulary is enhanced when it is taught using word search puzzle. This research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of the study was the grade V students of Pah Tsung Primary School, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. They were taught vocabulary using word search puzzle. The instrument used were vocabulary test sheet, diary note and interview guidance. The data technique analysis of the research were qualitative and quantitative. The finding of the research was: there was an enchancement of students’vocabulary ability through word search puzzle. It can be seen from the mean score of the students pre-test (57,45), post-test cycle I (67,72) and post-test of cycle II (76,54). It is suggested that Word Search Puzzle technique can develop students’ vocabulary. Keywords: Classroom action research, improving vocabulary, word search puzzle.
