Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian : Untuk menganalisis efek penggunaan ekstrak daun sirih terhadap kadar hemoglobin (Hb) pada tikus putih betina. Metode penelitian : Penelitian eksperimental laboratorik dengan desain Pre and Post Control Group Randomize dilakukan pada 24 ekor tikus betina dewasa yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Tikus dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok : K1 (Kontrol), K2 (dosis 2,5 gr), K3 (dosis 10 gr), K4 (dosis 15 gr). Kadar Hb diperiksa secara serial (sebelum intervensi , 7 hari dan 14 hari pasca intervensi. Hasil : Terdapat penurunan kadar Hb yang tidak bermakna pasca7 hari intervensi : K1(14,73±0,48), K2 (14,86±0,92), K3 (14,13±0,53), dan K4 (13,83±0,56). Terdapat penurunankadar Hb yang tidak bermakna pasca 14 hari intervensi : K1 (14,71±0,82), K2 (14,48±0,39), K3 (13,93±0,77), dan K4 (13,78±0,57), namun didapatkan penurunan yang bermakna diantara kelompok penelitian. Kesimpulan : Terdapat korelasi negatif yang cukup kuat dan bermakna antara penurunan kadar hemoglobin (Hb) dengan pemberian ekstrak daun sirih selama 14 hari. Kata kunci : Daun sirih, Hemoglobin, Tikus. Objective: To analyze the effect of using Piper betle L. extract on hemoglobin (Hb) levels in female white rats. Methods: A laboratory experimental study with the design of Pre and Post Control Group Randomize was performed on 24 adult female rats that met the inclusion criteria. Rats were divided into 4 groups: K1 (Control), K2 (dose 2.5 gr), K3 (dose 10 gr), K4 (dose 15 gr). Hb levels were examined serially (before intervention, 7 days and 14 days post intervention). Results: There was no significant decrease in Hb levels after 7 days of intervention: K1 (14,73±0,48), K2 (14,86±0,92), K3 (14,13±0,53), and K4(13,83±0,56). There was no significant decrease in Hb levels after 14 days of intervention: K1 (14,71±0,82), K2 (14,48±0,39), K3 (13,93±0,77and K4 (13,78±0,57), but there was a significant decrease among the study groups. Conclusion: There is a strong and significant negative correlation between a decrease in hemoglobin level (Hb) with intervention of Piper betle L. extract for 14 days.
