Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the level of interest in Legal English as a compulsory subject among students at the Faculty of Law, Christian University of Indonesia. Respondents for this study were active students at Indonesian Christian University's Faculty of Law in Jakarta. Students' efforts in mastering legal English can be compared to their efforts in mastering general English. The research method used was a grounded qualitative research method with a questionnaire technique to active students at Indonesian Christian University's Faculty of Law in Jakarta, Indonesia. The discussion results revealed that students at the Faculty of Law were less interested in legal English because legal English is a bored subject and they lacked a sufficient basic knowledge of general English. The author concludes that learning legal English requires a basic command of the English language. lecturers should indeed design learnings that inspire students, pique their curiosity for learning, and assist them in expanding their legal lexicon.
