Abstract

Studi ini berjudul Translation Techniques of Loss and Gain in the Subtitle of Guilty Movie by Antoine Fuqua. Di dalam studi ini memiliki tujuan yaitu diantaranya untuk menemukan forms pengurangan (loss) dan penambahan (gain) yang ditemukan dalam film Antoine Fuqua dan juga mengidentifikasi teknik di dalam penerjemahan bertujuan guna untuk menerjemahkan ujaran di dalam sulih teks (subtitle), karena penerjemah ingin membuat terjemahannya secara akurat, Peneliti menjelaskan teknik penerjemahan yang mereka gunakan dalam teks subtitle film The Guilty dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan data untuk mencari naskah film di internet, mengunduh film tersebut dari internet, dan kemudian mensegmentasi ujaran yang dibuat oleh tokoh utama. Adapun teori yang digunakan peneliti, yaitu teori dari Molina dan Albir (2002) untuk menganalisis data. Langkah langkah dari penelitian ini adalah membaca transkrip dan sulih teks film The Guilty, menemukan metode pengurangan dan penambahan yang digunakan dalam sulih teks The Guilty, menganalisis ujaran yang digunakan dalam teknik penerjemahan di dalam sulih teks The Guilty, dan akhirnya membuat kesimpulan tentang penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menemukan total 51 jenis pengurangan dan penambahan. Ada 42 jenis pengurangan, terdiri dari (33 jenis linguistic compression dan 9 jenis reduction). Ada juga 9 jenis penambahan, terdiri dari (5 jenis amplification dan 4 bentuk linguistic amplification). Peneliti menemukan bahwa teknik linguistic compression adalah salah satu teknik penerjemahan film yang paling banyak digunakan. / Translation Techniques of Loss and Gain in the Subtitle of The Guilty Movie by Antoine Fuqua is the title of the thesis. Since the translator wished to render the translation to be as exact as possible, expressing the source text's meaning, the purpose of this study is to determine the types of loss and gain contained in Antoine Fuqua's film The Guilty, as well as the translation methodologies utilized to examine translated utterances in subtitle text. The translation methods employed in the movie The Guilty's subtitle text were described by the researcher using a descriptive qualitative methodology. Searching the script online, the methods utilized to collect data are to download the script over the internet and separating the main characters' utterances. The data was analyzed using a method described by Molina and Albir (2002). Reading the movie's transcript and subtitle, recognizing the loss and gain technique of translation employed in a movie of the subtitle, then the utterances are analyzing into the translation techniques in the movie subtitle, and taking a conclusion are the process. The outcomes of the study include 51 different types of loss and gain. There are 42 types of loss (33 types of linguistic compression and 9 types of reduction) and 9 types of gain (5 types of amplification and 4 types of linguistic amplification). The study shows that the linguistic compression is mostly used in the translation technique.
