Abstract
Hubungan Korea Selatan dengan Jepang terlihat tidak harmonis dikarenakan masih adanya isu yang belum terselesaikan, seperti sengketa pulau Dokdo, perbudakan seks perempuan Korea oleh militer Jepang, dan kebudayaan didasari oleh sejarah kedua negara. Hal tersebut membuat Korea Selatan melalui Korean wave berupaya memperbaiki image negara nya di mata masyarakat Jepang. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan dampak hegemoni drama Korea di Jepang dengan menggunakan drama “Winter Sonata” sebagai studi kasus dan menggunakan teori hegemoni yang dicetuskan oleh Antonio Gramsci. Penelitian ini berupaya membongkar misteri tersebut dengan metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi hegemoni di tiga arena penting yaitu budaya, intelektual dan moral sehingga berdampak positif pada pandangan masyarakat Jepang terhadap Korea Selatan. Penayangan drama Korea Winter Sonata di Jepang mampu mengubah image Korea Selatan terhadap perspektif masyarakat Jepang. Fakta dari fenomena ini adalah meningkatnya animo masyarakat Jepang untuk mengkonsumsi produk Korea, menonton drama Korea, dan berwisata ke Korea Selatan. South Korea's relations with Japan look unharmonious because there are still unresolved issues, such as the Dokdo island dispute, Korean women's sex slavery by the Japanese military, and culture based on the history of the two countries. This makes South Korea through the Korean wave trying to improve its country's image in the eyes of Japanese society. This study aims to explain the impact of Korean drama hegemony in Japan by using the drama "Winter Sonata" as a case study and use the theory of hegemony by Antonio Gramsci. This study seeks to expose the mystery with qualitative methods. The results showed that there was hegemony in three important arenas namely cultural, intellectual and moral, so that it had a positive impact on Japanese people's views of South Korea. Watching the Korean drama Winter Sonata in Japan can change South Korea's image from the perspective of Japanese society. The fact of this phenomenon is the increasing interest of Japanese people to consume Korean products, watch Korean dramas, and travel to South Korea.
