Abstract

This study analyzes the translation strategy of slang in Rob Cohen's Fast and Furious film, which was released in 2001. The purpose of this study, to find out the slang translation strategies used in this film, and also to find out the types of slang in this film, as well as the meanings contained in the slang. The researcher took this research because, this research has not been done much before, and is also interested in discussing slang words that are very popular among young people.This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, which will use theories from several experts to discuss and analyze the content of this research. This research is also related to the types of slang language which will be discussed first in the formulation of the problem, as well as related to the meaning contained in the slang words before discussing the translation strategy used in the slang words in this film. In the results of this discussion, in this film there are 24 slang words that have been collected and researched by the author when watching the film. Then here there are 13 slang words that belong to the type of jargon slang, then no slang word that belongs to the type of prokem slang, 7 slang words that belong to the colloquial type of slang, and 4 slang words that belong to the type of argot slang. The researcher conclude that the types of slang that are widely used in this film use more slang jargon types. Then the researcher has also analyzed the meanings contained in these slang words and their equivalent words. And lastly, in this film there are 12 slang words that use a Literal translation strategy, 2 slang words that use a Literal Softening translation strategy, and 10 slang words that use a Stylistic Compensation translation strategy. The reseracher also concludes that the translation strategy is Literal Translation which is the most widely used in this Fast and Furious film. / Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi penerjemahan bahasa slang dalam film Fast and Furious karya Rob Cohen yang dirilis pada tahun 2001. Tujuan penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui strategi penerjemahan bahasa slang yang digunakan dalam film ini, dan juga untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis bahasa slang dalam film tersebut. film ini, serta makna yang terkandung dalam bahasa gaul tersebut. Penulis mengambil penelitian ini karena, penelitian ini belum banyak dilakukan sebelumnya, dan juga tertarik untuk membahas kata-kata slang yang sangat populer di kalangan anak muda.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, yang akan menggunakan teori-teori dari beberapa ahli untuk membahas dan menganalisis isi penelitian ini. Penelitian ini juga terkait dengan jenis-jenis bahasa slang yang akan dibahas terlebih dahulu dalam rumusan masalah, serta terkait dengan makna yang terkandung dalam kata-kata slang sebelum membahas strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam kata-kata slang di film ini.Dalam hasil pembahasan ini, dalam film ini terdapat 24 bahasa gaul yang telah dikumpulkan dan diteliti oleh penulis saat menonton film tersebut. Kemudian di sini terdapat 13 kata slang yang termasuk dalam jenis jargon slang, kemudian tidak ada kata gaul yang termasuk dalam jenis prokem slang, 7 kata gaul yang termasuk dalam jenis colloquial slang, dan 4 kata gaul yang termasuk ke dalam jenis dari bahasa gaul argot. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa jenis slang yang banyak digunakan dalam film ini lebih banyak menggunakan jenis jargon slang. Kemudian peneliti juga menganalisis makna yang terkandung dalam kata-kata gaul tersebut dan padanannya. Dan terakhir, dalam film ini terdapat 12 kata slang yang menggunakan strategi penerjemahan Literal, kemudian 2 kata slang yang menggunakan strategi penerjemahan Literal Softening, dan 10 kata slang yang menggunakan strategi penerjemahan Stylistic Compensation, peneliti juga menyimpulkan bahwa strategi penerjemahan tersebut adalah Terjemahan Literal yang paling banyak digunakan dalam film Fast and Furious ini.
