Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis teknik penerjemahan phrasal verbs dalam film Inception. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi teknik penerjemahan apa yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan phrasal verbs pada subtitle film Inception, dan mengetahui teknik terjemahan mana yang paling banyak digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan phrasal verbs pada subtitle film Inception. Peneliti mengambil penelitian ini karena film ini sangat menarik, alurnya tidak terduga dan membuat penonton harus berpikir untuk memahami ceritanya. Peneliti merasa menarik untuk membahas topik yaitu menerjemahkan subtitle film yang membutuhkan teknik yang tepat untuk mendapatkan hasil yang efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan peneliti menggunakan teori dari salah satu ahli yaitu Molina dan Albir untuk diterapkan dan digunakan dalam menganalisis data. Masalah yang akan dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi satu per satu teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam menerjemahkan phrasal verbs dalam subtitle film ini, dan meneliti teknik penerjemahan apa yang paling banyak digunakan oleh penerjemah. Peneliti menemukan ada 31 data yang berhasil dikumpulkan. Dari 31 data phrasal verbs, terdapat 4 macam teknik penerjemahan dalam kalimat subtitle film ini. Teknik-teknik tersebut adalah teknik kreasi diskursif, teknik padanan lazim, teknik variasi, dan teknik terjemahan literal. Dalam teknik penerjemahan ini, yang paling banyak digunakan adalah teknik padanan lazim. Kata kunci: penerjemahan, subtitle, teknik penerjemahan./ This research analyzes the phrasal verbs translation technique used by the translator in the subtitles of Inception movie. The purpose of this research is to identify what translation techniques are used by the translator in translating phrasal verbs in the subtitle of Inception movie, and find out which translation techniques are mostly used by the translator in translating phrasal verbs in the subtitle of the Inception movie. The researcher took this research because this movie is very interesting, the plot is unpredictable and makes the audience have to think to understand the story. The researcher thinks that it is interesting to discuss the topic which is translating the movie subtitles requiring the right technique to get effective results. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and the researcher uses the theory of one the experts, namely Molina and Albir, to be applied and used in analyzing the data. The problem that will be discussed in this research is to identify one by one the translation techniques used in translating phrasal verbs in the subtitles of this film, and research what translation techniques are used the most by the translator. Researchers found that 31 data had been collected. In the 31 phrasal verbs data, there are 4 kinds of translation techniques in the subtitle sentences of this film. They are discursive creation technique, established equivalence technique, variation technique, and literal translation technique.
