Abstract

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pertama kali di Wuhan, Cina, pada Desember 2019. Virus jenis RNA strain tunggal positif dapat menginfeksi saluran pernapasan manusia. COVID-19 meningkat pada usia lanjut dengan komorbid seperti hipertensi. Sebagian besar kasus COVID-19 dengan komorbid hipertensi adalah laki-laki. Kasus kematian meningkat apabila pasien COVID-19 dengan komorbid hipertensi. Hal ini dikarenakan virus menggunakan ACE2 sebagai reseptor untuk menginfeksi sel inang, ACE2 yang berkurang didalam tubuh memungkinkan jalur kerja ACE2 terganggu pada sistem RAAS untuk mempertahankan tekanan darah tetap stabil. Kata kunci: ACE-2, Hipertensi, SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19./ COVID-19 is a disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) first in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. A positive single-strain RNA virus can infect the human respiratory tract. COVID-19 increases in the elderly with comorbidities such as hypertension. Most of the COVID-19 cases with comorbid hypertension were male. Cases of death increase if COVID-19 patients with comorbid hypertension. This is because the virus uses ACE2 as a receptor to infect host cells, reduced ACE2 in the body allows the ACE2 pathway to be disrupted in the RAAS system to maintain stable blood pressure.
