Abstract

Mati tenggelam merupakan kematian yang disebabkan oleh keadaan asfiksia akibat aspirasi cairan ke dalam saluran napas atau paru-paru yang mengakibatkan tersumbatnya saluran napas dalam waktu 24 jam. Salah satu pemeriksaan untuk menegakkan diagnosis korban mati tenggelam adalah pemeriksaan laboratorium identifikasi diatom. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran morfologi dan jenis diatom yang hidup di sepanjang Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Ciliwung Hulu, Tengah, dan Hilir, untuk mempermudah identifikasi apabila ditemukan korban tenggelam di Sungai Ciliwung. Desain penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif kualitatif. Data pada penelitian ini merupakan hasil pengamatan dan analisis sampel air sungai Ciliwung di Laboratorium Penelitian Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 17 spesies yang berbeda pada Bendung Katulampa, 19 spesies pada Jembatan Ciliwung, serta 14 spesies pada Pintu Air Manggarai. Dari total 22 spesies diatom yang ditemukan, secara keseluruhan distribusi terluas adalah Nitzschia sp, Navicula sp, Fragilaria sp, dan Cyclotella sp. Persebaran dan jenis diatom yang ditemukan berkaitan erat dengan kecepatan arus dan debit air, suhu, serta kekeruhan sungai. Kata kunci: Tenggelam, Diatom, DAS Ciliwung./ Drowning is death due to asphyxia of fluid aspiration into the airways or lungs which causes airway obstruction within 24 hours. To confirm the diagnosis of drowning victims, diatom identification laboratory examination is used commonly. This study aims to determine the morphological description and types of diatoms that live along the Upper, Middle, and Lower Ciliwung Watersheds, to facilitate identification if drowning victims are found in the Ciliwung River. The design of this research is a qualitative descriptive. The data obtained is the result of observation and analysis of Ciliwung river water samples at the Research Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine, Christian University of Indonesia. The results of the study found 17 different species on the Katulampa Dam, 19 species on the Ciliwung Bridge, and 14 species on the Manggarai Water Gate. Of the total 22 diatom species found, the widest distribution was Nitzschia sp, Navicula sp, Fragilaria sp, and Cyclotella sp. The distribution and types of diatoms found are closely related to the speed of current and water discharge, temperature, and river turbidity. Keywords: Drowning, Diatom, Ciliwung Watershed.
