Abstract

Decreased immune status during HIV/AIDS can cause complications and opportunistic infections, one of which is skin and mucosal diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between skin and mucosal diseases and CD4+ count of HIV/AIDS patients at UKI General Hospital for the period 2009-2022. The research was conducted using a cross-sectional method. Data obtained from medical records. Calculation of the sample size in this study using the total sampling method, with a total sample of 80 patients. The results of this study were processed by the SPSS computer statistical program using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Mann-Whitney tests. The results showed that most of CD4+ count of HIV/AIDS patients with skin and mucosal diseases averaged 0-200 cells/mm3. The most common skin and mucosal diseases suffered by HIV/AIDS patients at UKI General Hospital for the period 2009-2022 were oral candidiasis. From the results of bivariate analysis, it was found that there was a significant relationship between skin and mucosal diseases and CD4+ count in HIV/AIDS patients (p value = 0.001)
