Abstract

Kata Kunci: BBLR, Hipertensi ibu hamil, WHO./ Low birth weight (LBW) is an important issue to consider because children are the nation's next generation. According to a 2019 WHO estimate, more than 20.5 million babies were born with low birth weight in 2015. The incidence of LBW is certainly closely related to the health of pregnant women. Purwanto and Wahyuni's research (2016) explains that maternal hypertension affects the occurrence of LBW because it reduces blood flow in the body, especially in the placenta so that it affects the distribution of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus. In Indonesia, the prevalence of LBW has decreased from 10.2% in 2013 to 6 ,2% in 2018. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between hypertension in pregnant women and the incidence of LBW in Indonesia in 2018. The approach used is cross-sectional and analytical methods. All data on the birth weight of children recorded in the 2018 RISKESDAS were included in this study with a total of 440 respondents, so the total sampling. The research data are presented in the form of a frequency distribution table and a chi-square test to determine whether there is a relationship. The findings in the study showed that 440 women developed hypertension during pregnancy. But there is no relationship between hypertension 1000 (p > 0.05) in pregnant women with low birth weight babies.” Key word: LBW,Hypertension in pregnancy,WHO
