Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti mengenai persepsi siswa tentang penggunaan video YouTube untuk memperkaya vocabulary. Penelitian di lakukan di SMA Fransiskus 2 pada bulan Juni 2020. Penelitian ini melibatkan 31 responden untuk mengisi data kuantitatif dikumpulkan dengan cara menggunakan kuesioner dan 5 responden sebagai narasumber dalam wawancara dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan data kualitatif dikumpulkan dengan cara wawancara dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menambah pemilihan sumber pengajaran, untuk para guru maupun para murid. Penelitian in menggunakan metode survey yang dibantu oleh dua instrumen, kuisioner dan wawancara. Berdasarkan data analisis, sebagian besar murid setuju dengan bantuan yang di berikan oleh video YouTube di dalam proses pembelajaran. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari respon peserta. Menurut peserta, setiap konten di dalam video bisa digunakan dalam membantu untuk mendapat perkembangan yang lebih baik dalam kemampuan meningkatkan vocabulary. Kata kunci: video YouTube, vocabulary./ This study focuses on students' perception of using YouTube videos to enrich English vocabulary at SMA Fransiskus 2. This study conducted on SMA Fransiskus 2 in June 2020 the study involved 31 respondents participating in filling quantitative data. The questionnaire and five respondents participated in the interview was analyzed by using the descriptive technique. In contrast, the qualitative data obtained from the interview analyzed descriptively. The research aimed to add options for learning sources for teacher and student. The researcher conducted survey research with the help of two instruments, questionnaire, and interview. Based on the data analysis, it was concluded that the majority of the students agreed with YouTube videos has a significant role in the learning process, especially in enriching vocabulary. It could be seen in the response of the participants. The participants found that every content of the video was able to be used to help them for gaining better development in their vocabulary improvement. Keywords: YouTube videos, vocabulary
