Abstract
The advancement of technology in the 21st era brings new opportunities in the education system, which allow online learning. This study was conducted to explore EFL students’ perception of synchronous learning use in language skills development. To attain the objective, data were collected through questionnaires. The samples were from students of the English Education Department batch 2020 and 2019 during the even semester 2020/2021 academic year. The findings showed that the EFL students had a positive perception of synchronous learning used in language skills development such as learning language skills synchronously saves time, easy to get information, as effective as face-to-face learning, the students agree they could improve the language skills synchronously and the quality of the questionnaire was good. However, synchronous learning is the approach while doing online learning because it allows lecturers and students to interact as if they were in a traditional classroom rather than feeling isolated.
