Abstract

Resistensi antibiotik telah menjadi masalah global. Penggunaan antibiotik yang tidak rasional dalam masyarakat terutama dalam bidang pelayanan kesehatan menjadi penyebab utama berkembangnya resistensi antibiotik. Untuk itu perlu diketahui pengetahuan dan pemehaman mahasiswa kedokteran klinik terkait antibiotik dan resistensi antibiotik. Tidak sedikit mahasiswa kedokteran klinik yang belum paham tentang penggunaan antibiotik yang rasional. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran pemahaman dan pengetahuan mahasiswa klinik fakultas kedokteran UKI mengenai resistensi antibiotik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 90 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner daring mengenai pengetahuan dan pemahaman mahasiswa tentang resistensi antibiotik yang telah diuji reliabilitasnya (Cronbach’s alpha 0.724 dan 0.785). Hasil penelitian didapatkan; mahasiswa memiliki pengetahuan yang baik. Jumlah jawaban responden yang benar terkait pengetahuan tentang resistensi antibiotik yaitu 81% (n=1080). Terkait pemahaman yang cukup baik tentang resistensi, 9%, tidak ada mahasiswa yang mememiliki pemahaman yang kurang baik. Tetapi didapatkan bahwa 77,8% mahasiswa merasa setuju tidak berkonsultasi dengan dokter terlebih dahulu, jika ingin menggunakan antibiotik. Kegagalan dalam menerapkan praktik pengendalian infeksi dasar menjadi salah satu prinsip penyebab munculnya dan menyebarnya organisme yang resisten, Mahasiswa klinik fakultas kedokteran UKI diharapkan semakin menambah pengetahuan atau wawasan mengenai resistensi antibiotik dari berbagai sumber yang dapat dipercaya serta terus mencari informasi terkini terkait perkembangan antibiotik serta resistensi antibiotik. Pembelajaran tentang antibiotik perlu diintensifkan di setiap stase untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman. The irrational use of antibiotics in society, especially in the field of health services, is the main cause of the development of antibiotic resistance. For this reason, it is necessary to know the knowledge and understanding of clinical medical students related to antibiotics and antibiotic resistance. Not a few clinical medical students who do not understand the rational use of antibiotics. The purpose of this study was to describe the understanding and knowledge of clinical students of the UKI medical faculty regarding antibiotic resistance. This research is descriptive research. The sample of this study were clinical students of the Faculty of Medicine, Christian University of Indonesia. The number of samples in this study were 90 people with a sampling technique using simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out using an online questionnaire regarding students' knowledge and understanding of antibiotic resistance that had been tested for reliability (Cronbach's alpha 0.724 and 0.785). The results obtained; students have good knowledge. The number of respondents who answered correctly related to knowledge about antibiotic resistance was 81% (n=1080). Regarding a fairly good understanding of resistance, 9%, none of the students had a poor understanding. But it was found that 77,8% of students agreed not to consult a doctor first, if they wanted to use antibiotics. Failure to apply basic infection control practices is one of the principles that causes the emergence and spread of resistant organisms, UKI medical faculty clinical students are expected to increase their knowledge or insight about antibiotic resistance from various reliable sources and continue to seek the latest information related to the development of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance.
