Abstract

Otitis eksterna adalah peradangan pada liang telinga yang terjadi secara akut maupun kronis yang disebabkan infeksi bakteri, virus, maupun jamur. Tujuan penelitin untuk mengetahui gambaran karakteristik penderita otitis eksterna usia 15-60 tahun di RSU UKI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif yang dilakukan di RSU UKI dengan jumlah sampel 67 pasien. Berdasarkan data rekam medik, diperoleh pasien otitis eksterna pada dewasa terbanyak adalah kelompok usia 26-30 tahun berjumlah (12 atau 17,9%), jenis kelamin dominan pada perempuan (35 atau 52,2%), tingkat pendidikan terbanyak adalah SMA (35 atau 52,2%), jenis pekerjaan terbanyak adalah sebagai pegawai swasta (27 atau 40,3%), keluhan utama terbanyak adalah otalgia (44 atau 65,7%), keluhan tambahan terbanyak adalah otorrhea (25 atau 37,3%), kebiasaan mengorek telinga sebanyak (63 atau 94,0%), jenis otitis ekserna terbanyak adalah otitis eksterna difusa (62 atau 91%), lokasi telinga yang diderita terbanyak yaitu unilateral (58 atau 86,6%). Kata Kunci : Otitis eksterna, dewasa, karakteristik, otalgia, otorrhea, cotton bud. Otitis eksterna is an inflammation of the aer canal that occur in either acute or chronic infections caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi. The research is to know the characteristic of patients otitis eksterna at General Hospital of Indonesian Christian University (RSU UKI). This research uses descriptive method with retrospective approach done at RSU UKI with sample number of 67 patients. Statistical data checks using SPSS version 24. Based on the medical record data obtained patient otitis eksterna in adult most often in the age group 26-30 (12 or 17,9%), female gender was predominantly than male (35 or 52,2%), senior high school students being the highets level of educational level patients (35 or 52,2%). The most occupational aspect of patients are private employees (27 or 40,3%). The main complaints of patient were otalgia (44 or 65,7%) and the additional symptom were otorrhea (25 or 37,3%). The risk factors of otitis eksterna, that is a habits of prying the ear (63 or 94%), major types of otitis eksterna are otitis eksterna difusa (62 or 91%), and the location of the ear was predominantly in the unilateral (58 or 86,6%).
