Abstract

The study was conducted on the Coordinator of Region III Private Higher Education, Jakarta. This study was aimed at revealing whether there was the difference between the performance with positive self-concept lecturers and those with negative self-concept. The population of this study was all public lecturers of Region III Private Higher Education, Jakarta, through which the sample taken was comprised of 100 respondents. The variable data of the lecturers’ performances were taken through the instrument assessed by three students for one lecturer; while the data for the self-concept variables were taken from the public lecturers. The analysis of the data applied the one-way ANOVA with F-test. Prior to the analysis the data was tested for the normality and homogeneity. The result indicated that the data sets were normally distributed and homogeneous. The analysis revealed that the calculated F = 17.72 > F-table for α = 5%; while the calculated F = 17.72 > F-table = 7.17 for α = 1%. That is to say that the performances of lecturers with positive self-concepts are higher than those with the negative self-concepts.
