Abstract

Land and Forest fires that often occur in Indonesia cause haze that has a bad impact not only in Indonesia but also to neighboring countries, namely Malaysia and Singapore. Land and forest fires in 2015 different from the previous year due to the long dry season and the El-Nino phenomenon. The impact of smoke from land and forest fires occurs in the life sector, such as disruption in people's daily lives, transportation, ecological damage, decreased tourism, economic, political and health problems. WALHI, WWF and Greenpeace are advocacy networks to address the problem of transboundary haze pollution in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. WWF with the #BeliYangBaik campaign has made the community and the government make products that are environmentally friendly. Greenpeace through the Zero Deforestation campaign has made APRIL's big palm oil and paper companies committed to ending deforestation as part of a sustainable forest management plan. WALHI uses legal approaches, policy reviews, revocation of permits and revamping environmental governance in overcoming land and forest fires.
