Abstract

Global competition becomes increasingly tight so that education becomes one of the important factors in improving competitiveness of a country. In the developing world various kinds of science-based learning model is being applied one of them is project based learning. The purpose of this research is to determine whether there is an influence of project based learning integrated with STEM method on the subject of global warming toward student learning outcomes and science process skills of eleventh grade highschool. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 9 Jakarta. The type of research used is Quasi Experiment, research design used is 2 group pre-test post-test control group design. The sampling on this research using purposive sampling. Class X IPA 1 as class control that using PjBl integrated with STEM method and class X IPA 2 as experiment class using problem based learning method. The sample subject in this study amounted to 60 students consisting of 30 students of experimental class and 30 students of control class. The instrument used is a test on the subject of global warming in the form of multiple choice as much as 20 questions that have been calibrated and and student worksheet (LKPD) that use science process skills indicators. Analysis of this research data using Mann Whitney U Test to see the effect of the learning model on learning outcomes, obtained Sig value of 0.00 which means smaller than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05) with N-Gain of 0.073 in the control class and 0.378 in the experimental class. The independent sample T test used to see the effect of the learning model on the science process skills obtained Sig data. (2-tailed) of 0.048 where the value is smaller than 0.05 (0.048 < 0.050) with the percentage of achievement of science process skills in the control class was 80.48 and in the experimental class was 88.09. From the two test results it can be concluded that there is an influence of the STEM integrated PjBl method on the subject of global warming on the learning outcomes and science process skills of eleventh grade highschool at SMA Negeri 9 Jakarta.
